Ričardas Gavelis
Ričardas Gavelis (8 October 1950 – 18 August 2002) was a Lithuanian writer, playwright, journalist, and theoretical physicist. He is most known for novels such as ''Vilnius Poker'' and ''Memoirs of a Young Man''. Gavelis grew up near a monastery in the Vilnius Old Town in the 1950s. After completing high school in Druskininkai, he moved back to Vilnius to pursue a degree in theoretical physics, graduating in 1973. As a new and promising physicist, he became involved in the Physics and Mathematics Institute of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences, after which he began journalistic work. He debut with a collection of short stories in 1976 and continued to write short stories, dramas and screenplays. Gavelis published ''Vilnius Poker'' (''Vilniaus pokeris''), his most famous work, in 1989. He died in 2002. Ričardas Berankis
Ričardas Berankis (; born June 21, 1990) is a Lithuanian professional tennis player. He is the first and only Lithuanian to enter the Association of Tennis Professionals, ATP top 50 rankings, making him the highest ranked Lithuanian tennis player of all time. Berankis has reached two finals on the ATP World Tour, at the Los Angeles Open (tennis), Los Angeles Open in 2012 and at the Kremlin Cup in 2017. He is also a prominent member of the Lithuania Davis Cup team. Early years Berankis started playing tennis at the age of two, when his six years older sister Lina took him to her tennis practices. Berankis' first coach was Valdas Adomaitis from Jurbarkas. Ričardas Bartkevičius (born 1959 in Vilnius) is a prominent Lithuanian painter and educator. Biography Bartkevičius demonstrated artistic talent in his early childhood. His art studies began in Vilnius (the School of J. Vienožinskis). The first personal exhibition was held in 1979. In 1986 he graduated from the Painting Department of Vilnius Academy of Arts. During the years of the studies he got to know and he was acquainted with such leading figures of Lithuanian art as Sofija Veiverytė, Algimantas Švėgžda, Antanas Gudaitis, Augustinas Savickas, Jonas Čeponis. Looking for his own painting style he admired and drew under the inspiration of El Greco, Tintoretto, and Peter Breigel works. Ričardas Tamulis
Ričardas Tamulis (22 July 1938 – 22 April 2008) was an amateur Lithuanian welterweight boxer who won the European title in 1961, 1963 and 1965 and an Olympic silver medal in 1964. Tamulis took up boxing in 1953 and won the Soviet welterweight title in 1959, 1961–62, 1964 and 1966, placing third in 1963 and 1967. He retired in 1967 with a record of 243 wins in 257 bouts and later coached boxers at his native club Žalgiris Kaunas. In the 1990s he was also active in Lithuanian politics. He died aged 69 after falling from an eighth-floor balcony. Ričardas Mikutavičius (February 26, 1935 – July 1, 1998) was a Lithuanian priest, Doctor of Theology, poet, and one of the most famous collectors of art in Lithuania Lithuania, officially the Republic of Lithuania, is a country in the Baltic region of Europe.
