The Rivière des Monts (''English: River of the Mounts'') is a tributary of the southwest bank of the lower part of the watercourse Le Gros Bras, flowing in the non organized from Lac-Pikauba and the municipality of Saint-Urbain, in the Charlevoix Regional County Municipality, in the administrative region of Capitale-Nationale, in the province of Quebec, in Canada. The lower part of this valley is mainly served by a few forest roads which connect to the north with the Parc-des-Grands-Jardins road. The upper part of this valley is served by a few other forest roads which also serve Lac Chambers and Lac Carbonel to the south. Forestry is the main economic activity in this valley; recreational tourism, second. Baie-Saint-Paul
Baie-Saint-Paul (; 2021 Population 7,371; UA population 4,308) is a city in the Province of Quebec, Canada, on the northern shore of the St. Lawrence River. Baie-Saint-Paul is the seat of Charlevoix Regional County Municipality. The city is situated at the mouth of the Gouffre River. The place gained some prominence in the 1770s when Doctor Philippe-Louis-François Badelard named a disease he was researching the "Baie-Saint-Paul maladie". Saint-Hilarion () is a parish municipality in Charlevoix Regional County Municipality, in the administrative region of Capitale-Nationale of the province of Quebec, Canada. It is named after Saint Hilarion. History In 1822. the geographic township of Settrington was proclaimed, named after a village in Yorkshire, England. Colonization of the area began in 1830 with the arrival of the first settlers from Les Éboulements. Malbaie River
The Malbaie River in the Charlevoix region empties into the Saint Lawrence River at La Malbaie. Until 1985 the river was used to transport logs downstream. It flows through a steep valley known as Les Hautes Gorges. A sugar maple and American elm forest grows in the gorge and has remained largely undisturbed for hundreds of years.
