Rivière-Ojima
Rivière-Ojima is an unorganized territory in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region of Quebec, Canada. It consists of two non-contiguous areas in the Abitibi-Ouest Regional County Municipality, separated by the municipality of Authier-Nord. The hamlets of Languedoc () and Saint-Eugène-de-Chazel () are located within its boundaries. Founded in 1949, Languedoc is the youngest rural population centre in the Abitibi region and named after the Languedoc Regiment, which arrived in New France in 1755 from Languedoc The Province of Languedoc (, , ; ) is a former province of France. Ojima River
The Ojima River is a tributary of Lake Turgeon, flowing in the township of Chazel, into the unorganized territory of Rivière-Ojima, Quebec and into the municipality of Val-Saint-Gilles, Quebec, in the regional county municipality (RCM) of Abitibi-Ouest, in the administrative region of Abitibi-Temiscamingue, in Quebec, in Canada. Abitibi-Ouest is a provincial electoral district in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region of Quebec, Canada, that elects members to the National Assembly of Quebec. It notably includes the municipalities of Amos, La Sarre, Macamic, Barraute, Palmarolle, Trécesson, Sainte-Germaine-Boulé and Dupuy. Launay, Quebec
Launay () is a township municipality in the Canadian province of Quebec, located in the Abitibi Regional County Municipality. The municipality is named after Jean-Baptiste Leporquier de Launay, a military commander and captain of the Guyenne Regiment from the mid-18th century. Its economy is dependent on agriculture and forestry. History The town's origin began with the construction of the railway station along the National Transcontinental Railway in 1913. In 1916, the geographic township was established, and settlement began the following year. On May 18, 1921, the Township Municipality of Launay was created out of unincorporated territory. Its first school was built in 1922, and its post office opened the following year (which closed in 1956). In 1947, Launay was connected to the electrical grid, and in 1961, to the telephone system. Lac-Chicobi () is an unorganized territory in the Canadian province of Quebec, located within the Abitibi Regional County Municipality. The area consists of two non-contiguous portions on either side of the incorporated municipality of Berry. The area had a population of 161 in the 2021 Canadian Census, and a land area of . The eponymous Lake Chicobi is roughly in the centre of the territory's western portion. It is fed by the Authier and Chicobi Rivers and drained by the Octave River, a tributary of the Harricana River. Val-Saint-Gilles () is a municipality in northwestern Quebec, Canada, in the Abitibi-Ouest Regional County Municipality about north of La Sarre. Chazel
Chazel () is a municipality in northwestern Quebec, Canada, in the Abitibi-Ouest Regional County Municipality. It had a population of 254 in the 2021 Canadian census. The municipality was incorporated on February 19, 1938, as the Municipality of Saint-Janvier, and commonly known as Saint-Janvier-de-Chazel.
