Riverside, Mbombela
Riverside is a suburb of Mbombela in Mpumalanga, South Africa and is situated 4 km north of the Mbombela CBD. The suburb, which is categorised as a City Improvement District (CID), is situated on the western banks of the Crocodile and Nels rivers. History The concept of Riverside was brought about in the early 1990s when Halls Properties realised the potential of the land. It also donated land to the Mpumalanga Provincial Government for the development of the new Provincial Government complex when Mbombela (then Nelspruit) obtained provincial capital status. The development of Riverside was also largely as a result of the need for additional land for light industrial development in Mbombela. Lowveld National Botanical Garden
The Lowveld National Botanical Garden, one of the nine National Botanical Gardens of South Africa is located just outside Mbombela, Mpumalanga at the confluence of the Crocodile River (Mpumalanga), Crocodile River and Nels River, which are separated by an extensive promontory. A lookout point at the far end of the garden, reached through a rainforest trail (surrounded by clivias, Ficus, fig trees, and baobab) allows views of the river in the deep gorge. The N4 (South Africa), N4 road runs through the northern portion of the park. This garden of 160 ha was opened in 1971. 600 native and 2,000 imported plant species grow there. Almost 650 native tree species are found there as well. The largest collection of cycads in the country is found in Veld, Lowveld, as well as a gene bank for such plants. The R40 is a provincial route in South Africa that connects the Eswatini border at Bulembu via Barberton, Mbombela, Bushbuckridge, Acornhoek and Hoedspruit with Phalaborwa. The R37 is a provincial route in South Africa that connects Polokwane with Mbombela via Burgersfort and Lydenburg (Mashishing). Route The R37 begins in Polokwane Central (Capital of Limpopo), at a junction with the two one-way streets that form the R101 route (Grober Street & Thabo Mbeki Street), just west of the R101's intersection with the R71 route. It begins by going southwards as Kerk Street to form a junction with the Polokwane Eastern Bypass ( N1 national route) and become the western border of the Polokwane Game Reserve. The Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature (MPL), previously known as the Eastern Transvaal Legislature, is the primary legislative body of the South African province of Mpumalanga. Crocodile River (Mpumalanga)
The Crocodile River, also referred to as Crocodile River (East), () is a large river traversing Mpumalanga province of South Africa. It is a tributary of the Komati River. Course It originates north of Dullstroom, Mpumalanga, in the Steenkampsberg Mountains. Downstream of Kwena Dam, the Crocodile River winds through the Schoemanskloof and down the Montrose Falls.
