River Tâf
The River Taf () is a river in West Wales. It rises in the Preseli Hills, Pembrokeshire, and continues through Carmarthenshire to Laugharne. It is one of the three rivers to enter the sea on the east side of Carmarthen Bay. The other two are the River Gwendraeth and River Tywi. Course The River Taf is about from Crymych to Ginst Point, of which about is tidal.The Journal of Conchology 1979 p 7 "CARMARTHEN BAY. Three large estuaries, the Gwendraeth, Afon Tywi and Afon Taf enter the sea on the east side of Carmarthen Bay and these rivers contribute to deposits of muddy shores. The Great Western Railway (GWR) was a History of rail transport in Great Britain, British railway company that linked London with the southwest, west and West Midlands (region), West Midlands of England and most of Wales. Carmarthen Bay
Carmarthen Bay () is an inlet of the South Wales coast, including notable beaches such as Pendine Sands and Cefn Sidan sands. Carmarthen Bay is partially within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. The Joint Nature Conservation Committee list Carmarthen Bay and Estuaries as a Special Area of Conservation. Geography The River Loughor flows into the bay at the Burry estuary, and the rivers River Tywi, Tywi, River Taf, Taf and River Gwendraeth, Gwendraeth flow into the bay at the Three Rivers Estuary. St Clears
St Clears ( ; ) is a town on the River Taf and a community in Carmarthenshire, Wales. At the 2011 census, the population was 2,995. The community includes the small settlements of Bancyfelin and Pwlltrap. It is bordered by the Carmarthenshire towns and villages of Meidrim, Newchurch and Merthyr, Llangynog, Laugharne Township, Llanddowror, Eglwyscummin, Llanboidy and Llangynin. Whitland
Whitland (, , or , , from the medieval ) is a town and Community (Wales), community in Carmarthenshire, Wales. A40 Road
The A40 is a trunk road which runs between London and Goodwick (Fishguard), Wales, and officially called The London to Fishguard Trunk Road (A40) in all legal documents and Acts. Much of its length within England has been superseded by motorways, such as the M40, and has lost its trunk road status, though it retains it west of Gloucester, including its length within Wales. It is approximately long. Afon Marlais, Pembrokeshire
The Afon Marlais is a right-bank tributary of the River Tâf in Pembrokeshire, West Wales. It flows through the Vale of Lampeter to join the Tâf just west of Whitland. Its length is approximately . The name derives from the Welsh 'marw glais' and signifies a 'stagnant stream'. Course An indication of the source of the river comes from Ordnance Survey maps which show, a short distance east of Redstone Cross (a junction of the A40 and the B4313 roads), a place called Blaenmarlais in the community of Narberth at . Cilymaenllwyd is a Community (Wales), community on the extreme northwest of Carmarthenshire in Wales. The community population at the United Kingdom Census 2011, 2011 census was 742. It lies about west of Carmarthen, southeast of Fishguard and northeast of Haverfordwest. The A478 road runs through the community. Glandwr, Pembrokeshire
Glandwr is a small rural village in the parish of Llanfyrnach and the community of Crymych, Pembrokeshire, Wales. The village appears on a pre-1850 parish map as Glan-dwr. It is linked by unclassified roads to adjacent settlements and to the A478 road. Glandwr sits on the River Gafel, which joins the River Taf to the southeast, and is the location of Lammas Ecovillage. Chapel Glandwr has had an independent chapel (''Capel Glandwr'') since 1712, rebuilt or restored several times since.
