Ristiḱ Palace
Ristiḱ Palace (Serbian Cyrillic: Ристићева палата; Macedonian: Ристиќева палата, ''Ristikjeva palata'', Albanian: Pallati Ristiq) is a monumental symbolic building at Macedonia Square (with the 'СКОПСКО' sign on top meaning ' Skopsko', a popular local beer brand) in Skopje, North Macedonia. The palace is located on the southern side of the Vardar river, in the southern part of Macedonia Square to the east is the birthplace of Mother Teresa, and to the south is the Memorial House of Mother Teresa and the headquarters of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of North Macedonia. It was built in 1926 and is currently used as an office block. Skopje
Skopje ( , ; ; , sq-definite, Shkupi) is the capital and largest city of North Macedonia. 1963 Skopje Earthquake
The 1963 Skopje earthquake () was a 6.1 moment magnitude earthquake which occurred in Skopje, SR Macedonia (present-day North Macedonia), then part of the SFR Yugoslavia, on July 26, 1963, which killed over 1,070 people, injured between 3,000 and 4,000 and left more than 200,000 people homeless. About 80 percent of the city was destroyed. Facts The earthquake, which measured 6.1 on the moment magnitude scale, occurred on July 26, 1963, at 04:17 UTC (5:17 am Time zone, local time) in Skopje, Socialist Republic of Macedonia, then part of SFR Yugoslavia (present-day North Macedonia). Memorial House Of Mother Teresa
The Mother Teresa Memorial House (, ) is dedicated to the saint, Catholic saint and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Mother Teresa. It is located in her hometown Skopje, in North Macedonia, where she lived from 1910 to 1928. The memorial house was built on the popular Macedonia Street in the Centar Municipality (Skopje), Centar municipality, on the very location of the once Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, where Mother Teresa was baptized. Mary Teresa Bojaxhiu (born Anjezë Gonxhe Bojaxhiu, ; 26 August 1910 – 5 September 1997), better known as Mother Teresa or Saint Mother Teresa, was an Albanian-Indian Catholic Church, Roman Catholic nun, founder of the Missionaries of Charity and is a Catholic saint.
