Rinkaby
Rinkaby is a locality situated in Kristianstad Municipality, Skåne County, Sweden with 745 inhabitants in 2010. It is close to Lake Hammarsjön and 12 kilometres from Kristianstad. The village has a pre-school and primary school which is housed in a building originating in the 19th century. There is a leisure centre, a football club and some shops. The area has Stone Age remains; the name of the village is probably derived from the word ''rinkʀ'' (Old West Norse ''rekkr''), meaning 'man' or 'warrior', and ''by'' denotes a settlement in Old Swedish. Rinkaby Church was built in the 13th century and contains medieval murals and an astronomical clock. It is an agricultural community; in the 19th century, the area was famous for growing tobacco, but now specialises in the rearing of Angus cattle. Rinkaby Church
Rinkaby Church ( sv, Rinkaby kyrka) is a 13th-century church in Rinkaby, Scania, Sweden. Rinkaby Church contains medieval murals and an astronomical clock. It belongs to the Church of Sweden. History Rinkaby Church was built 1250. The building material is brick, and it was probably loosely modeled on the church in Åhus. It originally consisted of a nave and a choir without an apse. The vaults of the choir probably date from the construction period, while the vaults in the nave were built during the 15th century. The church porch was built around the same time. The church was enlarged in 1794, and it was probably also then that the wooden superstructure on the roof, containing the church bells, was built. 22nd World Scout Jamboree
The 22nd World Scout Jamboree (Swedish: ''22:a världsjamboreen'') took place in Rinkaby, Kristianstad, Scania in southern Sweden from 27 July to 7 August 2011. The theme was ''Simply Scouting''. 40,061 Scouts, leaders and adult volunteers participated from 166 different countries. Jamboree site The Jamboree was held on the fields of Rinkaby. In 2001, a national Jamboree took place here with 26,700 participants, and another national Jamboree, ''Jiingijamborii'' was held here from 14–22 July 2007. The camp area itself lies near the coast on sandy ground surrounded by pine woods. Sandy earth helps rain water run off and thus there is no risk of any parts of the camp area being waterlogged. The campsite is approximately 1.5 km by 1.5 km. Small areas of forest divide the campsite into smaller fields. Kristianstad (, ; older spelling from Danish ''Christianstad'') is a city and the seat of Kristianstad Municipality, Scania County, Sweden with 40,145 inhabitants in 2016. During the last 15 years, it has gone from a garrison town to a developed commercial city, today attracting visitors in the summertime mainly from Germany, Denmark and The Netherlands. Kristianstad Municipality (''Kristianstads kommun'') is a municipality in Scania County in southernmost Sweden. Its seat is located in the city Kristianstad. The present municipality was created in three steps during the last nationwide local government reform, and it has the largest area of the municipalities of Skåne County. In 1967 a number of rural municipalities were merged into the ''City of Kristianstad''. In 1971 more former units were added and the city became a unitary municipality.
