Riley Jackson
Riley Francis Jackson (born December 2, 2005) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder for the North Carolina Courage of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). She was named the national Gatorade National Player of the Year in 2022. She signed with the Courage at the age of 17 in 2023. She represented the United States at the under-17 and under-20 level, helping win bronze at the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup. Early life Jackson grew up in Roswell, Georgia. She played ten years of club soccer for Roswell Soccer Club, a team coached by her father. She then joined Concorde Fire of the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL), where she played up an age group. The North Carolina Courage are an American professional Association football, soccer team based in Cary, North Carolina, that competes in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). It was founded on January 9, 2017, after Stephen Malik acquired NWSL franchise rights from the Western New York Flash. The Courage plays its home games at WakeMed Soccer Park. In association football, a penalty shoot-out (previously known as kicks from the penalty mark) is a tie-breaking method to determine which team is awarded victory in a match that cannot end in a tie (draw), draw, when the score is tied after the normal time as well as Overtime (sports)#Association football, extra time (if used) has expired. The 2024 NWSL x Liga MX Femenil Summer Cup was the inaugural edition of the NWSL x Liga MX Femenil Summer Cup, a women's soccer competition between clubs from the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) of the United States and Liga MX Femenil of Mexico. The tournament was held from July to October 2024 at venues in the United States and Mexico. The 20 participating teams were divided into five groups, with the top four teams overall advancing to the semifinals. The Duke Blue Devils women's soccer team represent Duke University in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) of NCAA Division I women's college soccer. The team was founded in 1988.
