Rihards Bukarts (born 31 December 1995) is a Latvian professional ice hockey Forward (ice hockey), forward. He is currently playing for HC Vitkovice in the Czech Extraliga (ELH). Bukarts was selected 9th overall in the 2012 KHL Junior Draft by the Dinamo Riga. With the selection, Bukarts became the highest-drafted Latvian in KHL history, four spots higher than his brother Roberts Bukarts in 2009 KHL Junior Draft, 2009. Rihards Kuksiks (born 17 July 1988) is a Latvian professional basketball player who last played for Pieno žvaigždės Pasvalys of the Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL). He is also a member of the senior Latvia national basketball team. College career 2007–08 season In his freshman year, Kuksiks appeared in 27 games, and he averaged 5.4 points and 1.8 rebounds per game. He had double-digit scoring in six of the final 12 games of the season, including 15 points in a win at Washington, and 12 points in a big home win vs USC. He hit 21 three-pointers in the final nine games against Pac-10 teams. Rihards Zariņš (also Richards Zarriņš or Richard Sarrinsch in German; 27 June 1869 – 21 April 1939) was a Latvian graphic artist. Life He was born in Kocēni and grew up in Līgatne and later in Grīva. He pursued his studies in St. Petersburg, where he graduated in 1895 from the Stieglitz Central School for Technical Drawing. He then went on to further studies in Berlin, Munich, Vienna, where he studied lithography, and Paris, where he honed his skills in watercolour and pastels. He returned to Russia where he was employed by the Russian Imperial Printing Office in St. Petersburg for 20 years, acting as technical director. From 1905 he was in charge of designing state papers. In 1919, he returned to newly independent Latvia where he was appointed director of the government printing house. He held that position for over 14 years and retired at the beginning of 1934. Rihards Dubra (born 28 February 1964 in Riga, Latvian SSR, Soviet Union) is a Latvian composer. Many of his works are religiously influenced, including a ''Te Deum'' and an ''Alma Redemptoris Mater'' for soprano saxophone, choir, and organ. Rihards Dubra was commissioned by Louth Contemporary Music Society (County Louth, Ireland) to write his first choral piece in English based on the words of 'Hail Holy Queen'. The world première was given by the State Choir Latvija in February 2008 in St.Patrick's Cathedral Church, Dundalk. Rihards Lomažs (born 13 April 1996) is a Latvian professional basketball player who last played for Telekom Baskets Bonn of the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL). Professional career Lomažs started his career in Latvia, playing for Jelgava, Jūrmala and Ventspils. With the latter, he won the Latvian–Estonian Basketball League in 2019, being elected MVP of the Finals. In the summer, he joined the French team ASVEL Basket, playing also in the EuroLeague for two seasons. After a few months with BG Göttingen in Basketball Bundesliga, in 2021 he joined the Turkish team Merkezefendi. He started the 2022–23 season with Basket Zaragoza, but joined the German club EWE Baskets Oldenburg in November 2022. Rihards Kozlovskis (born 26 May 1969) is a Latvian politician and lawyer. He has served as the Minister of the Interior of Latvia since 2023; he had previously served in the same position from 2011 to 2019. He is a member of Unity.
