Ricky Wilson (guitarist)
Ricky Helton Wilson (March 19, 1953 – October 12, 1985) was an American musician best known as the original guitarist and founding member of rock band the B-52s. Born in Athens, Georgia, Wilson was the brother of fellow member Cindy Wilson. The B-52s were founded in 1976, when Ricky, Cindy, Kate Pierson, Keith Strickland and Fred Schneider shared a tropical flaming volcano drink at a Chinese restaurant and, after an impromptu music session at the home of their friend Owen Scott III, played for the first time at a Valentine's Day party for friends. Wilson's unusual guitar tunings were a large contribution to the band's quirky sound. On October 12, 1985, at the age of 32, Wilson died from complications related to AIDS following the recording of the band's fourth studio album ''Bouncing Off the Satellites''. Ricky Wilson (born July 16, 1964) is a retired American professional basketball player born in Hampton, Virginia. A 6'3" guard from George Mason University, Wilson was selected by the Chicago Bulls in the third round of the 1986 NBA draft. He played one season (1987–88) in the NBA as a member of the New Jersey Nets and San Antonio Spurs, averaging 5.2 points per game and 2.9 assists per game. Wilson played in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) for the Mississippi Jets, Grand Rapids Hoops, Quad City Thunder, Capital Region Pontiacs, Rockford Lightning and Wichita Falls Texans from 1986 to 1994. He was selected to the All-CBA First Team and All-Defensive Team in 1988. Wilson also played in the 1988 CBA All-Star Game. Charles Richard Wilson (born 17 January 1978) is an English musician and the frontman of five-piece rock band Kaiser Chiefs. Before the formation of the band, in 2003, Wilson was a member of the band Runston Parva (later known as Parva), which consisted of members of Kaiser Chiefs. In September 2013, Wilson was confirmed as a coach on ''The Voice UK''. He was the winning coach for both the fourth and fifth series of the show, being the first coach to win two years consecutively.
