Clinton Rickard (1882–1971) was a Tuscarora chief known for founding the Indian Defense League, and for promoting Native American sovereignty. He worked for free passage of Native Americans across the US–Canada border, and to prevent the flooding of the Tuscarora Reservation. Biography Rickard was born 19 May 1882 on the Tuscarora Reservation in New York to George and Lucy Rickard "Clinton was one of ten soldiers detailed to protect Vice President Theodore Roosevelt on a visit to Buffalo in 1901. Rick "Ricky" Rickard (born 1958) is a retired New Zealand professional wrestler who competed in the National Wrestling Alliance-affiliated All Star-Pro Wrestling, promoted by his father Steve Rickard, as well as touring Australia, Singapore, Malaysia and the United States during the 1970s and early 1980s. Reuben Rickard (August 20, 1841 – February 24, 1896) was a mining engineer He married Mary Elizabeth Humphreys October 3, 1863. They had six children, three of whom died young. who served as President of the Town Board of Trustees in Berkeley, California from 1891 to 1893, and again for about one month during 1895. Rickard was born on August 20, 1841, in England. Rickard was hired by John Taylor and Sons of London to oversee their mining and metallurgical operations in Pontgibaud, France in the 1860s. In 1875, the Rickard family emigrated to the United States as Reuben had been hired to manage the operations of the Richmond Mining Company in Eureka, Nevada. He worked there six years before taking on another job inspecting mines for English investors throughout the western U.S. and Mexico. Bruce Rickard (1 December 1929 – 22 September 2010; born Bruce Arthur Lancelot Rickard) was an Australian architect and landscape designer. Throughout his career, he was involved with the production of commercial, landscape and urban planning projects, but much of his work was residential, including the design of more than 80 family homes around the north shore and northern beaches of Sydney.
