Rick Pitino
Richard Andrew Pitino (; born September 18, 1952) is an American basketball coach who is the head men's basketball coach at St. John's University (New York City), St. John's University. He was also the head coach of Greece national basketball team, Greece's senior national team. He has been the head coach of several teams in NCAA Division I and in the NBA, including Boston University Terriers men's basketball, Boston University (1978–1983), Providence Friars men's basketball, Providence College (1985–1987), the New York Knicks (1987–1989), the Kentucky Wildcats men's basketball, University of Kentucky (1989–1997), the Boston Celtics (1997–2001), the Louisville Cardinals men's basketball, University of Louisville (2001–2017), Panathinaikos B.C., Panathinaikos of the Greek Basket League and EuroLeague (2018–2020), and Iona Gaels men's basketball, Iona University (2020–2023). The 2013 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament involved 68 teams playing in a single-elimination tournament that determined the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I men's basketball national champion for the 2012–13 season. It was the first conference tournament held since the split of the original Big East Conference. The American Athletic Conference men's basketball tournament (sometimes known simply as The American Championship) is the conference tournament in men's basketball for the American Athletic Conference. The Conference USA men's basketball tournament is held annually following the end of the regular season of NCAA Division I Men's Basketball. Format and hosts After the conference realignment, the tournament was held at FedExForum in Memphis, Tennessee, for five seasons. It moved to the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma for the 2010, and then to El Paso, Texas, at the Don Haskins Center for 2011. It returned to FedExForum in 2012, and was set to be played there in 2013, as well. However, after Memphis' decision to leave Conference USA for what ultimately became the American Athletic Conference in 2013–14, the league decided to move the tournament to a site near a school remaining in the conference, ultimately selecting the BOK Center in Tulsa.
