Rick Knox
Rick Knox (born 1970) is an American professional wrestling referee signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW), and has previously worked for Pro Wrestling Guerilla and the National Wrestling Alliance. Career Knox began his career on the independent circuit, notably with Pro Wrestling Guerilla, and also refereed for the inaugural All In event that led to the creation of All Elite Wrestling. He made his AEW debut during the first pay-per-view, on May 25, 2019, at Double or Nothing On September 20, 2023, at AEW Grand Slam, Knox refereed an AEW International Championship match between Jon Moxley and Rey Fenix. During the match Moxley suffered a concussion and rather than counting to three and ending the match, he instead allowed Fenix to perform a second piledriver on Moxley before ending the match. Open to anyone, regardless of gender or DDT employment status, the championship is defended "24/7", as in any time, anywhere, as long as a referee is there to confirm the win. Because of this rule, not only is the championship winnable regardless of gender or number of individuals (in case of a common pinfall or submission), it is also available to "unconventional" champions such as animals or inanimate objects, with title changes regularly occurring outside of regular shows, often with videos posted on the promotion's social media accounts. is a Japanese professional wrestling promotion based in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Shinjuku, Tokyo. Its name is an initialism of Dramatic Dream Team, which was the promotion's original name from 1997 to 2004. Founded in March 1997 by Shintaro Muto, the promotion was eventually bought and managed by Shoichi Ichimiya until December 2005, when Sanshiro Takagi took over as the new president. A piledriver is a professional wrestling driver move in which the wrestler grabs their opponent, turns them upside-down, and drops into a sitting or kneeling position, driving the opponent head-first into the mat. The technique is said to have been innovated by Wild Bill Longson. The name is taken from a piece of construction equipment, also called a pile driver, that drives countless massive impacts on the top of a large major foundation support, burying it in the ground slowly with each impact. The ''act'' of performing a piledriver is called "piledriving".
