Revolucionnários ( Portuguese for "''Revolutionnaries''" ) was a Brazilian rock band from Santos, São Paulo. History After parting ways with his former band Charlie Brown Jr. in 2005 amid a series of creative divergences and clashes with vocalist Chorão, bassist Champignon formed Revolucionnários soon after, claiming it was always a dream of his having his own side project to Charlie Brown Jr. in which he could have more creative control over the songwriting process. Thus, he dubbed his band "Revolucionnários" because he intended to "revolutionize his life" with this new endeavor; the double "N" alludes to a numerology map made by the mother of a friend of Champignon. Retratos Da Humanidade
''Retratos da Humanidade'' ( Portuguese for "''Portraits of Mankind''") is the only release by Brazilian alternative rock band Revolucionnários. It came out in 2006 through label Champirado Records, founded by vocalist and bassist Champignon (formerly of Charlie Brown Jr.), and distributed by Universal Music Group. Produced by Tadeu Patolla (who had also collaborated with Charlie Brown Jr. previously) and mastered by Rodrigo Castanho (famous for his work with bands such as CPM 22 and NX Zero), the album spawned the hit singles "Revolucionnários" and "Como num Sonho Perfeito", described by Champignon as a tribute to singer Rita Lee and her band Os Mutantes. A music video, which counted with a guest appearance by actress Karina Bacchi, was made for the latter. Luiz Carlos Leão Duarte Júnior (June 16, 1978 – September 9, 2013), better known by his stage name Champignon and also referred to affectionately as Champ or Champs by fans, was a Brazilian singer-songwriter, lyricist, bassist, beatboxer, record label owner and drummer famous for his work with bands Charlie Brown Jr., Revolucionnários, Nove Mil Anjos and A Banca. Music critic Hagamenon Brito considered him one of the three greatest Brazilian pop rock bassists of all time alongside Paulo Roberto Diniz "PJ" Júnior of Jota Quest and Alexandre Dengue of Nação Zumbi, and Emir Ruivo of webzine ''El Hombre'' compared him to Red Hot Chili Peppers' Flea. Nove Mil Anjos
Nove Mil Anjos ( Portuguese for "''Nine Thousand Angels''"), also referred to as 9MA, was a short-lived Brazilian alternative rock band from São Paulo. History Nove Mil Anjos was conceived by Junior Lima in 2008, one year after the break-up of Sandy & Junior, the duo he was a part of alongside his sister Sandy which acquired massive success throughout the 1990s and the 2000s. Besides Lima, who was the drummer, the band also comprised guitarist Peu Sousa (previously a live musician for singer Pitty), bassist Champignon (of Charlie Brown Jr. and Revolucionnários) and vocalist Péricles "Perí" Carpigiani. The band's name, however, was suggested by Sousa, who claimed it came to him through a dream. Luiz Antônio Tadeu Eliezer (born March 30, 1959), known professionally as Tadeu Patolla, is a Brazilian guitarist and Latin Grammy Award-winning record producer best known for discovering the then-relatively new alternative rock band Charlie Brown Jr. in 1995 and launching them into mainstream fame. Biography Patolla was born in Santos, São Paulo on March 30, 1959. He began his career, initially as a musician, in the late 1970s playing for cover bands Rock Memory and Rock Cover. In the early 1980s, alongside former Patrulha do Espaço bassist Oswaldo "Cokinho" Gennari, Leonardo Giordano and Maurício Pedrosa, he formed the "one-hit wonder" band Telex, whose only release prior to their disbandment was the 7" single "Só Delírio" through CBS Records International in 1984. A tribute act, tribute band, tribute group or tribute artist is a music group, singer, or musician who specifically plays the music of a well-known music act.
