Republic (Slovakia)
The Republic Movement () is an Extremism, extremist Far-right politics, far-right List of political parties in Slovakia, political party in Slovakia led by Milan Uhrík. The party is often regarded as Neo-fascism, neo-fascist despite some political experts contesting this description. Founded in March 2021 by Uhrík and other former members of the far-right Neo-Nazism, neo-Nazi party People's Party Our Slovakia (ĽSNS) of Marian Kotleba, the movement took over and renamed the existing party ''Voice of the People'' () led by Peter Marček, which had only 50 members in 2018. Marček was later kicked out of the party. Due to the defection of former ĽSNS representatives, the party had five seats in the National Council (Slovakia), National Council of the Slovak Republic before the 2023 Slovak parliamentary election, 2023 election. Milan Uhrík
Milan Uhrík (born 21 December 1984) is a Slovakia, Slovak politician, Member of the European Parliament, MEP and the leader of the Republic Movement. A former Non-Inscrits, non-inscrit, he is now a part of the Europe of Sovereign Nations Group, ESN group in the European Parliament. He is a former deputy of the National Council of the Slovak Republic for the Far-right politics, far-right People's Party Our Slovakia (ĽSNS) and member of the Foreign Committee of the Slovak Republic. Political career In 2010, Uhrík ran for the position of local councillor in the municipality of Komjatice for the Liberal conservatism, liberal-conservative SDKÚ party. Marian Kotleba
Marian Kotleba (; born 7 April 1977) is a Slovakia, Slovak politician and leader of the far-right, neo-Nazi political party Kotlebists – People's Party Our Slovakia (). He served as the governor of Banská Bystrica Region from 2013 to 2017. He was a presidential candidate in the 2019 Slovak presidential election, 2019 election, in which he finished fourth. Early life and education Born in Banská Bystrica in what was then Czechoslovakia, Kotleba attended the local Jozef Murgas High School. After finishing his education at a Grammar School he enrolled at the Matej Bel University receiving a Master's Degree in Pedagogics, later he once again enrolled at the Economics faculty at the same university and graduated with a master's degree in Economics. Russophilia is the identification or solidarity with, appreciation of, or support for the country, people, language, and history of Russia. One who espouses Russophilia is called a russophile. Milan Mazurek (born 24 January 1994) is a far-right Slovak politician who serves for the Republic party (formerly People's Party Our Slovakia). In 2019, he was convicted of defamation of race based on his anti-Romani statements, and became the first Slovak parliamentarian to lose his seat because of a crime.
