Petr Bystron (born 30 November 1972) is a Czech-born German politician. He is a member of the Bundestag since the German federal election in 2017 for the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party. Bystron moved to Germany with his parents in 1987 from the former Czechoslovakia. He was a member of the Free Democratic Party (FDP) from 2006 to 2013. In 2017 Bystron was monitored by the Bavarian Office for the Protection of the Constitution because of his close ties to the Identitarian movement. On extreme right-wing PI-News Bystron wrote AfD had to be a "protective shield for this organisation". Maximilian Eugen Krah (born 28 January 1977) is a German lawyer and politician for right-wing populist Alternative for Germany (AfD). He has served as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) from 2019 until March 2025 when he became a member of the German parliament. In April 2024, Krah gained international attention when the German Prosecutor General arrested his assistant, suspected of spying for China by passing on information about negotiations and decisions in the European Parliament to China's intelligence service. 2019 Thuringian State Election
The 2019 Thuringian state election was held on 27 October 2019 to elect the members of the 7th Landtag of Thuringia. The outgoing government was a coalition consisting of The Left, the Social Democratic Party (SPD), and The Greens, led by Minister-President Bodo Ramelow. The Left became the largest party for the first time in any German state with a small improvement to 31% of votes. The Alternative for Germany (AfD) more than doubled its vote share to 23%, overtaking the opposition Christian Democratic Union (CDU) to place second.
