René Allendy
René Félix Allendy (; 19 February 1889, Paris – 12 July 1942, Montpellier) was a French psychoanalyst and homeopath. Life Allendy contracted pneumonia at three years and was a sickly child, affected by diphtheria and other serious ailments. After successfully completing secondary school, he studied Russian and Swedish and obtained a medical degree from the School of Medicine in Paris in 1912. A few days later, he married Yvonne Nel-Dumouchel, who was his companion and assistant until her death in 1935. After the death of Yvonne, Allendy married her sister, Colette. In 1914 he was mobilized for World War I, but after being diagnosed with tuberculosis, he returned to civilian life. He practiced medicine in the hospitals of and Saint-Jacques. At the latter, between 1932 and 1939, he trialed a homeopathic treatment to prevent tuberculosis. Angela Anaïs Juana Antolina Rosa Edelmira Nin y Culmell ( ; ; February 21, 1903 – January 14, 1977) was a French-born American diarist, essayist, novelist, and writer of short stories and erotica. Born to Cuban parents in France, Nin was the daughter of the composer Joaquín Nin and the classically trained singer Rosa Culmell. Nin spent her early years in Spain and Cuba, about sixteen years in Paris (1924–1940), and the remaining half of her life in the United States, where she became an established author. Nin wrote journals prolifically from age eleven until her death. Her journals, many of which were published during her lifetime, detail her private thoughts and personal relationships. René Laforgue
René Laforgue (; 5 November 18946 March 1962) was a French psychiatrist and psychoanalyst. Biography Laforgue was born in Thann, Haut-Rhin, Thann (then part of the German Empire) and died in Paris. He studied medicine in Berlin. Nazi His collaboration, like Georges Mauco, with the Nazis over the Aryanisation of the society in Paris during the Occupation in World War Two cast something of a shadow over his later career. He organized himself with the active Nazi Matthias Göring, cousin of Hermann Göring, who was the propagator of aryan psychotherapy and aryan psychoanalysis, Nazi-oriented. He was convicted during a purge trial after the Second World War. René Laforgue went into exile in Morocco to be forgotten in Casablanca, where he expresses mysticism and racism. The Groupe d'études philosophiques et scientifiques pour l'examen des idées nouvelles ("Philosophical and scientific society for the assessment of emerging ideas") was a French philosophical study group who met at the Sorbonne, Paris in the 1920s and early 1930s. It was established by René and Yvonne Allendy. History The group was inaugurated on 7 December 1922 with a presentation by Paul Langevin. In 1925 René Allendy described the aims of the group in terms of bringing together artists, scientists and other intellectuals from the universities. The group continued until 1934.
