Regal Rose
Regal Rose (foaled 7 May 1998) is a British Thoroughbred racehorse and broodmare. She was undefeated in a brief racing career which consisted of two races as a two-year-old in the summer and autumn of 2000. After winning a maiden race at Ascot Racecourse on her debut she defeated twelve opponents to take the Group One Cheveley Park Stakes in September. She remained in training in 2001 but suffered a leg injury in spring and was retired later that year without contesting another race. She has had some success as a broodmare. Background Regal Rose is a "tall, scopey" bay mare with a white star bred and owned by the Newmarket-based Cheveley Park Stud.She was sired by Danehill, a sprinter who won the Cork and Orrery Stakes and Haydock Sprint Cup in 1989. Danehill (26 March 1986 – 13 May 2003) was an American-bred, British-trained Thoroughbred racehorse who was the most successful sire of all time with 349 stakes winners and 89 Graded stakes race, Grade 1 winners. He was the leading sire in Australia nine times, the leading sire in Great Britain and Ireland three times and the leading sire in France twice. Background Danehill was a bay stallion by leading sire Danzig (horse), Danzig (by Northern Dancer) out of Razyana (by His Majesty). Conditions Races
Conditions races are horse racing, horse races in which the weights carried by the runners are laid down by the conditions attached to the race. Weights are allocated according to the sex of the runners, with female runners carrying less weight than males; the age of the runners, with younger horses receiving weight from older runners to allow for relative maturity, referred to as weight for age; and the quality of the runners, with horses that have won certain values of races giving weight to less successful entrants. Conditions races are distinct from handicap races, for which the weights carried are laid down by an official handicapper to equalise the difference in ability between the runners. Johnny Murtagh
Johnny Murtagh (born 14 May 1970) is an Irish flat racing trainer and former jockey from Bohermeen, near Navan, Kells, County Meath. As a jockey he won many of the major flat races in Europe, including all the Irish Classics, all the Group 1 races at Royal Ascot, the The Derby, the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes and Europe's biggest flat race, the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. Rodrigo de Triano (foaled 27 May 1989 – 5 August 2014) was an American-bred, English-trained Thoroughbred Champion racehorse. Background Foaled in Kentucky, and bred and raced by leading British horseman, Robert Sangster, he was out of the mare Hot Princess and sired by El Gran Senor, a sire of fifty-five stakes race winners. Shaadi (20 May 1986 – 8 January 2008) was an American-bred, British-trained Thoroughbred racehorse and sire. He showed very promising form as a two-year-old in 1988 when he won both of his races. In the following year he won the Craven Stakes but then ran very poorly in the 2000 Guineas. He produced his best form in his next two races, recording decisive wins in the Irish 2,000 Guineas and the St James's Palace Stakes. He was unplaced in his two remaining races and was retired from racing at the end of the season. He stood as a breeding stallion in Europe and Japan, having limited success as a sire of winners. The St James's Palace Stakes is a Group races, Group 1 Flat racing, flat Horse racing, horse race in Great Britain open to three-year-old Colt (horse), colts. North Light (1 March 2001 – 20 March 2024) was Thoroughbred racehorse, and sire, bred in Ireland but trained in the United Kingdom. He was best known as the winner of The Derby in 2004. Background North Light was bred in Ireland by Lord Weinstock's Ballymacoll Stud. George Washington (horse)
George Washington (3 January 2003 – 27 October 2007) was an Irish thoroughbred racehorse. Having won four Group 1 races including the 2,000 Guineas, he was retired to stud at the end of 2006 only to be brought back to racing in June 2007 after it emerged that he had fertility problems. He suffered a fracture of his right foreleg during the Breeders' Cup Classic at Monmouth Park in the United States on 27 October 2007 and was euthanised on course. Rock of Gibraltar (8 March 1999 – 23 October 2022) was an Irish Thoroughbred racehorse who won seven consecutive Group 1 races, including the 2000 Guineas and Irish 2,000 Guineas in 2002.
