Raymond Diocrès
Raymond Diocrès (died 1084) was a "Parisian university professor and canon (title), canon" and the subject of a miracle. Diocrès is known for a miracle that took place at his funeral, which was depicted in several artistic works. The story goes that at his funeral Diocrès briefly returned to life, in order to swear to the assembly that God had judged and condemned his soul. One of his students, Bruno of Cologne, upon witnessing this miracle, decided to abandon civil life and become a monk, thus founding the Carthusian order. The funeral of Raymond Diocrès figures in illuminated manuscript, illuminated scenes from the ''Très Riches Heures du Duc de Berry''. Painters such as Vincenzo Carducci, Gregorio Bausá, and Eustache Le Sueur also depicted scenes from Diocrès' life, especially those related to Bruno of Cologne. References

Vicente Carducho
Vincenzio Carduccio (in Spanish language, Spanish, sometimes ''Vicencio'' or Vicente Carducho; 1576 or 1578–1638) was an Italians, Italian Italian painter, painter who spent his career in Habsburg Spain, Spain. Education and training He was born in Florence and was trained as a painter by his brother Bartolomeo Carducho, Bartolomeo Carduccio, whom he followed to Madrid as a boy. While attached to the Spanish court since about 1585, his presence in Spain is first documented in 1601. He initially painted some works at Valladolid and helped his brother paint the Escorial for Philip II of Spain. He returned to the court of Philip III of Spain, Philip III in Madrid in 1606 and helped decorate the recently rebuilt Palacio del Pardo. While at work his brother died, and Vicente took his place.
