Rastislav Pavlikovský
Rastislav Pavlikovský (born March 2, 1977) is a retired Slovak professional ice hockey centre. He last played for MHK Dubnica in the Slovak 2. Liga. Pavlikovský was part of the Slovakia men's national ice hockey team which won the 2002 IIHF World Championships. He also competed in the men's tournament at the 2002 Winter Olympics. He last played the 2012-13 season with Linköping in the Elitserien. His elder brother Richard Richard is a male given name. The centre (or center in American English) in ice hockey is a forward (ice hockey), forward position of a player whose primary Hockey rink#Zones, zone of play is the middle of the ice, away from the sideboards. Richard Pavlikovský (born March 3, 1975, in Ilava, Czechoslovakia) is a Slovak professional ice hockey defenceman. From 2005 through 2013, he played for Krefeld Pinguine in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). In the 2013–2014 season, he began playing for the Orli Znojmo (Eagles), based in Czech city of Znojmo. Ice Hockey At The 2002 Winter Olympics – Men's Tournament
The men's tournament marked the second Olympic Games where the National Hockey League took a break to allow all its players the opportunity to play. The break lasted for 12 days, from February 14 to February 25. Summary Fourteen countries played in the tournament. Six hockey powers (Canada, the Czech Republic, Finland, Russia, Sweden, and the United States) were automatically admitted to the final eight. The other eight countries (Austria, Belarus, France, Germany, Latvia, Slovakia, Switzerland, and Ukraine) played in a preliminary round in two pools. The winners of those pools, Belarus and Germany, advanced to the final round with the six hockey powers. 2002 Men's World Ice Hockey Championships
The 2002 Men's Ice Hockey World Championships were held between 26 April and 11 May 2002 in Gothenburg, Karlstad and Jönköping, Sweden. It was the 66th annual event, and was run by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). The competition also served as qualification for division placements in the 2003 competition. Championship The Championship division was contested from 26 April to 11 May 2002. Participants in this tournament were placed into groups of four with the top three teams in each group advancing to the qualifying round. Teams which finished last in the group were sent to the relegation round where the top bottom teams were relegated to the 2003 Division I tournament. Within the qualifying round teams where split into two groups of six with the top four advancing to the playoff round and the bottom two eliminated from advancing. Slovakia Men's National Ice Hockey Team
The Slovakia men's national ice hockey team is the national ice hockey team of Slovakia and is controlled by the Slovak Ice Hockey Federation. A successor to the Czechoslovakia national team, it is one of the most successful national ice hockey teams in the world.
