Rangamati () is a town and the administrative headquarters of Rangamati District in the Chittagong Hill Tracts of Bangladesh. The town is located at 22°37'60N 92°12'0E and has an elevation of above sea level. Demographics According to the 2022 Bangladesh census, Rangamati had a population of 521,394 and a literacy rate of 85.62%. According to the 2011 Bangladesh census, Rangamati had 18,355 households and a population of 675,269 . 471,492 (18.61%) were under 10 years of age. Rangamati had a literacy rate (age 7 and over) of 73.13%, compared to the national average of 51.8%, and a sex ratio of 870 females per 1000 males. Rangamati Hill District
Rangamati District (), officially Rangamati Hill District, is a district in south-eastern Bangladesh. It is a part of the Chattogram Division, and the town of Rangamati serves as the headquarters of the district. By area, Rangamati is the largest district of the country. Geography Rangamati is located in the Chittagong Division. It is bordered by the Tripura state of India to the north, Bandarban District to the south, Mizoram State of India and Chin State of Myanmar to the east, and Khagrachari and Chittagong Districts to the west. Moni Swapan Dewan
Moni Swapan Dewan (born 18 May 1954) alias Major Rajesh is a Bangladesh Nationalist Party politician, ethnic Chakma, and a former member of parliament from the Chittagong Hill Tracts. He is also the former deputy minister for Hill Tracts Affairs. He started his career as a guerilla leader for the Shanti Bahini, the armed wing of the Parbatya Chattagram Jana Samhati Samiti. Konglak Haphong
Sajek Valley () is a popular tourist spot in Bangladesh, situated among the hills of the Kasalong range of mountains in the northern area of the Chittagong Hill Tracts. Referred to as the "Queen of Hills" and the "Roof of Rangamati", the valley is known for its greenery and dense forests, situated at an elevation of above sea level. Buddhism is the third-largest religious affiliation and formed about 0.61% of the population of Bangladesh. Binoy Kumar Dewan (9 March 1925 – 21 July 2021) was a Bangladeshi politician from Rangamati belonging to Jatiya Party. He was a former member of the Jatiya Sangsad. Kaptai Lake
Kaptai Lake is the largest man-made lake in Bangladesh. It is located in the Kaptai Upazila under Rangamati District of Chittagong Division. The lake was created as a result of building the Kaptai Dam on the Karnaphuli River, as part of the Karnafuli Hydropower Station. Kaptai Lake's average depth is and maximum depth is .
