Ranchi
Ranchi (; ) is the capital city and also the largest district by population of the Indian state of Jharkhand. Ranchi was the centre of the Jharkhand movement, which called for a separate state for the tribal regions of South Bihar, northern Odisha, western West Bengal and the eastern area of what is present-day Chhattisgarh. The Jharkhand state was formed on 15 November 2000 by carving out the Bihar divisions of Chota Nagpur and Santhal Parganas. Ranchi is being developed as a Smart City because it was selected as one of the hundred Indian cities to be developed as a smart city under PM Narendra Modi's flagship Smart Cities Mission. Ranchi is also one of the oldest cities in Jharkhand. Jagannath Temple and Ratu Palace are some sights which witnessed the history of Ranchi. Ranchi is also nicknamed the ''City of Waterfalls''. Ranchi District
Ranchi district is the most populous district of Jharkhand state in eastern India. Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, is the district headquarters. History Iron slag, potsherds and iron tools have been found in the Chota Nagpur plateau dated to 1400 BCE. Magadha Empire exercised indirect control over the territory, which lasted until the reign of the Ashoka. Kalinga rulers are believed to have ravaged the region during their expeditions to Rajgir and Pataliputra. Armies of Samudra Gupta passed through the region on their expedition to Deccan. During medieval period, the Nagvanshi dynasty were ruling in the region. Khukhragarh was one of the capitals of Nagvanshi dynasty. Ranchi Municipal Corporation
Ranchi Municipal Corporation is responsible for the civic administration of the city of Ranchi. It was established in 1979 in erstwhile Bihar and is presently the biggest municipality in Jharkhand. According to Census of India 2011, the area under the municipal body is 175.12 sq km and the population is 1,073,427. There are 55 wards in the city, which are further grouped into zones. The last election to the municipal corporation took place in 2018, with candidates from Bharatiya Janata Party winning the seats of Mayor and Deputy Mayor. Birsa Munda Airport
Birsa Munda Airport is a domestic airport serving Ranchi, the capital city of Jharkhand, India. It is named after the famous Indian tribal freedom fighter, Birsa Munda, and is currently managed by the Airports Authority of India. The airport is located in Hinoo, approximately from the city center and sprawls over an area of 1,568 acres. Jagannath Temple, Ranchi
Jagannath Temple is a Hindu temple in Ranchi, Jharkhand, India's 17th-century temple dedicated to Lord Jagannath. It was built by king of Barkagarh Jagannathpur Thakur Ani Nath Shahdeo, in 1691. Completed on 25 December 1691, it is located about 10 km from the main town. The temple is on top of a small hillock. Similar to the famous Jagannath Temple in Puri, Odisha, this temple is built in the same architectural style, although it is smaller. Nagpuri (also known as Sadri) is an Indo-Aryan languages, Indo-Aryan language spoken in the Indian states of Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Odisha.
