Ramón Blanco (footballer)
Ramón Blanco Rodríguez (20 February 1952 – 9 May 2013) was a Spanish football defensive midfielder and manager. His professional career was closely associated to Cádiz, as both a player and manager. Playing career Born in Vimianzo, Province of A Coruña, Blanco moved to Argentina at an early age, as his parents were in search of better working opportunities. He joined Sportivo Italiano at the age of 13, making his senior debut with the first team in Primera B Nacional only four years later. Again in his country of birth, Blanco signed for RCD Mallorca in Segunda División, moving to La Liga with Real Betis in 1974. He saw out his two-year contract with the latter, in spite of limited playing opportunities. He made his debut in the Spanish top flight on 5 January 1975, coming on as a late substitute in a 3–0 home win against Hércules CF. Vimianzo is a municipality in the province of A Coruña in the autonomous community of Galicia, northwestern Spain. It belongs to the comarca of Terra de Soneira. In the sport of association football, a midfielder takes an outfield position primarily in the middle of the pitch. Midfielders may play an exclusively defensive role, breaking up attacks, and are in that case known as defensive midfielders. As central midfielders often go across boundaries, with mobility and passing ability, they are often referred to as deep-lying midfielders, play-makers, box-to-box midfielders, or holding midfielders. There are also attacking midfielders with limited defensive assignments. Enrique Mateos
Enrique Mateos Mancebo (15 July 1934 – 6 July 2001) was a Spanish footballer who played as a striker. He amassed La Liga totals of 123 games and 48 goals over the course of 13 seasons, representing in the competition Real Madrid, Sevilla and Betis. Club career Born in Madrid, Mateos finished his graduation at local and national powerhouse Real Madrid. He was mainly a reserve player during his eight-year spell with the first team, which won 13 major titles during that timeframe; his best output came during the 1956–57 season, when he scored a career-best 14 goals in 21 games ''en route'' to the La Liga championship; additionally, he netted nine times in 16 appearances combined in the European Cup, winning the tournament on four occasions. The 1976–77 Segunda División season saw 20 teams participate in the second flight Spanish league. Sporting de Gijón, Cádiz CF and Rayo Vallecano were promoted to Primera División. Pontevedra CF, Levante UD, CD San Andrés and Barcelona Atlètic were relegated to the new Segunda División B. From this season, there is no relegation playoff. In association football, a substitute is a player who is brought on to the pitch during a match in exchange for an existing player. Substitutions are generally made to replace a player who has become tired or injured, or who is performing poorly, or for tactical reasons (such as bringing a striker on in place of a defender). A player who has been substituted during a match takes no further part in the game, in games played under the standard International Football Association Board Laws of the Game. Substitutions were officially added to the Laws of the Game in 1958. Prior to this most games were played with no changes permitted at all, with occasional exceptions in cases of extreme injury or players not arriving to matches on time.
