''Atmano mokshartham jagat hitaya cha'' (, ', translation: for the salvation of our individual self and for the well-being of all on earth) is a sloka of the Rig Veda. Bibek Debroy (25 January 1955 – 1 November 2024) was an Indian economist, who served as the chairman of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister of India. He was also the Chairman of the Finance Ministry's 'Expert Committee for Infrastructure Classification and Financing Framework for Amrit Kaal'. Dipankar Bhattacharya (born December 1960) is an Indian politician and the national general secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist–Leninist) Liberation. He was the top ranker of the 1979 higher secondary board examination and has an M.Stat. degree from the Indian Statistical Institute. Bimal Kumar Roy is a former director of the Indian Statistical Institute. He is a cryptologist from the Cryptology Research Group of the Applied Statistics Unit of ISI, Kolkata. He received a Ph.D. in Combinatorics and Optimization in 1982 from the University of Waterloo under the joint supervision of Ronald C. Mullin and Paul Jacob Schellenberg. In June 2015 Roy was removed from his post of director of ISI, just one month before the end of his appointment. This action was harshly criticised by the international academic community. Currently, he is working on Combinatorics, and application of Statistics in Cryptology and Design of Experiments.
