Rafael Martínez (born March 3, 1962) is a Mexican professional auto racing driver who has competed in the NASCAR Nationwide Series and the NASCAR West Series. He is a former champion of the NASCAR Mexico Series, having won the championship in 2007; he is also the oldest driver to win the championship in that series, having won it at the age of 45 years old. History The race's origins trace back to 1978, when a it was a NASCAR Late Model Sportsman Series race was held the day before the World 600. In 1982 it became a Busch Series race. The race celebrated its 40th running in 2018, and is considered one of the more popular races on the Xfinity Series schedule. The ToyotaCare 250 was a NASCAR Xfinity Series race that took place at Richmond Raceway in Richmond, Virginia. The race was first held during the inaugural season for the Xfinity Series in 1982 as a 150-lap event. The race was removed from the schedule after 1984. It returned to the series starting in 1990 as a 200 lap race. It was expanded to 250 lap distance in 1994. In 2016, as part of an overhauling of the Richmond spring race weekend, including the new Dash4Cash format, the total of 210-laps and had two 35-lap heat races and a 140-lap feature.
