Radlkofera
''Radlkofera'' is a monotypic genus of flowering plants belonging to the family Sapindaceae. It only contains one known species, Radlkofera calodendron Gilg Its native range is Tropical Africa. It is found in Cabinda, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo, Gabon and Zaïre. The genus name of ''Radlkofera'' is in honour of Ludwig Adolph Timotheus Radlkofer (1829–1927), a Bavaria, Bavarian taxonomist and botanist. The Latin binomial nomenclature, specific epithet of ''calodendron'' is derived from the Greek, ''kalos'' which means beautiful and ''dendrum'' means tree. Both the genus and the species were first described and published in Bot. Jahrb. Syst. Vol.24 on page 300 in 1897. References

Ludwig Adolph Timotheus Radlkofer
Ludwig Adolph Timotheus Radlkofer (19 December 1829, in Munich – 16 February 1927, in Munich), was a Bavarian taxonomist and botanist. Radlkofer became a physician in 1854 and earned a PhD in botany at Jena the following year. He became an associate professor of botany at the University of Munich in 1859 as well as deputy director of the botanical garden and herbarium. In 1892 he was named director of the Botanical Museum. He was made emeritus professor in 1913 and died in 1927 in the same room in which he was born. Radlkofer's main work was on the family Sapindaceae. His collections, sent by botanists from all over the world, are housed in Munich. The South African flower '' Greyia radlkoferi'' is named for him, as are the South American based genera of ''Radlkoferotoma'', and ''Radlkofera'', a monotypic genus of flowering plants from Africa belonging to the family Sapindaceae. Ernest Friedrich Gilg
Ernest (or Ernst) Friedrich Gilg (12 January 1867 in Baden-Württemberg, Germany – 11 October 1933 in Berlin) was a German botanist. Life Gilg was curator of the Botanical Museum in Berlin. With fellow botanist Adolf Engler, he co-authored and published a syllabus on botanical families, ''Syllabus der Pflanzenfamilien'' (8th edition 1919). He also made contributions to Engler's "''Das Pflanzenreich''", (e.g. the section on the family Monimiaceae). The Poaceae grass genus, ''Gilgiochloa ''Gilgiochloa'' is a genus of African plants in the grass family. The Sapindaceae are a family of flowering plants in the order Sapindales known as the soapberry family. It contains 138 genera and 1858 accepted species.
