Radio Training Network, Inc. is an American non-profit broadcasting organization that operates several networks of Christian radio- formatted stations, mostly in the Southeast. The network's footprint includes stations in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Missouri, North Carolina and South Carolina. The network is based in Port Richey, Florida. Some stations are programmed as "The JOY FM" and several are known as "His Radio." History In May 1976, Jim and Ruth Campbell took over the management and programming of WCIE 91.3 FM, a non-commercial station in Lakeland, Florida, which was owned by the Evangel Christian School. The station quickly became a financial success, raising more than enough listener support to keep it on the air. In broadcasting, a flagship (also known as a flagship station or key station) is the broadcast station which originates a television network, or a particular radio or television program that plays a key role in the branding of and consumer loyalty to a network or station. Christian adult contemporary, also known as Christian AC or CAC, is a radio format. In the United States, Christian adult contemporary radio stations cater to a mostly adult audience and are similar to mainstream adult contemporary stations in that they play hits often and for long periods of time. KWFC (89.1 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a Southern Gospel format. Licensed to Springfield, Missouri, United States, the station serves the Springfield MO area. The station is owned by the Radio Training Network, Inc. History KWFC began broadcasting on April 17, 1969 at 97.3-FM in Springfield. At the time, the commercial station operated for most of the day, but would shut down for the night. Those early days saw a programming mix of teaching, preaching and music.
