Radio México Internacional is a Mexican government-run radio service based in Mexico City. It broadcast as a shortwave radio station with the broadcast callsign XERMX-OC from 1969 to 2004, and was relaunched as an Internet-only radio service in 2011. Since 1983, it has been under the control of the Instituto Mexicano de la Radio (IMER). The -OC suffix is from '' onda corta'', Spanish for "short wave". XHOF-FM, also known as Reactor 105.7, is a radio station in Mexico City that plays alternative rock music, and hip hop mainly in English and Spanish. Its broadcast frequency is 105.7 MHz. HD Radio (HDR) is a trademark for in-band on-channel (IBOC) digital radio broadcast technology. HD radio generally simulcast, simulcasts an existing analog radio station in digital format with less noise and with additional text information. HD Radio is used primarily by FM broadcasting, FM radio stations in the United States, U.S. Virgin Islands, Canada, Mexico and the Philippines, with a few implementations outside North America. XEUN-AM is a radio station in Mexico City. Broadcasting on 860 AM, XEUN-AM is owned by the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) as a sister to XEUN-FM 96.1 and XHUNAM-TDT 20. History On June 14, 1937, the Cultural Broadcasting Administration of UNAM was formed, and rector Luis Chico Goerne officially dedicated the facilities of the university's new radio station on Justo Sierra 16 in Mexico City. From 1937 to 1939, the station bore the calls XEXX and was located at 1170 kHz, broadcasting at 5 kW four hours a day; in 1939, the station moved to 860 kHz and took the XEUN calls. The Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (''Secretaría de Infraestructura, Comunicaciones y Transportes'', SICT) of Mexico is the national federal entity that regulates commercial road traffic and broadcasting.
