The ROH Pure Championship is a professional wrestling championship contested for in the American professional wrestling promotion Ring of Honor (ROH). The reigning champion is Lee Moriarty in his first reign. History The title was originally named the ROH Pure Wrestling Championship and A.J. Styles defeated CM Punk in the final of an eight-man, one night tournament to crown the first champion. The tournament took place at the ''Second Anniversary Show'' and also featured RJ Brewer, John Walters, Chris Sabin, Doug Williams (wrestler), Doug Williams, Matt Stryker, Josh Daniels and Jimmy Rave. Julian Lee Moriarty (born June 6, 1994) is an American professional wrestler. He is signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW), where he performs under the ring name Lee Moriarty and is a member of Shane Taylor Promotions. He also performs for its sister promotion Ring of Honor (ROH), where he is the reigning ROH Pure Champion in his first reign. Brian Woermann (born July 21, 1979) is an American former professional wrestler, better known by his ring name, Matt Stryker. Professional wrestling career Brian Woermann attended Milford High School, where he played basketball and Diving. After graduating, Woermann obtained a job selling cars while trying to pursue a career in Law Enforcement through one of his brothers with the Village of Terrace Park Police Dept. After various run-ins with the law and some convictions, Brian's Law Enforcement career was abruptly cut short. ROH 2nd Anniversary Show was the second ROH Anniversary Show professional wrestling event produced by Ring of Honor (ROH). It took place on February 14, 2004, at the National Guard Armory in Braintree, Massachusetts. The show featured a tournament to crown the inaugural Pure Wrestling Champion, with A.J.
