RL Merit League
The Rugby League Conference, also known as the Co-operative Rugby League Conference as a result of sponsorship from The Co-operative Group), was a series of regionally based divisions of amateur rugby league teams spread throughout England, Scotland, and Wales. The RLC was founded as the 10-team Southern Conference League in 1997, with teams from the southern midlands and the south east, but subsequently, rebranded and expanded both geographically and numerically to include around 90 teams stretched across almost the whole of Great Britain from Aberdeen in northern Scotland down to Plymouth on the south coast of England. The aim of the RLC was initially to provide regular fixtures for new clubs based outside the traditional 'heartland' of rugby league in the UK, although as the playing standards increased, it also accepted teams from the 'heartlands'. North West Men's League
The North West Men's League is a summer rugby league competition for amateur teams in North West England. The competition was formed in 2009 as the RLC North West Premier by splitting the RLC North Premier into two competitions - this and the RLC Yorkshire Premier. The league was renamed to its current name following the 2012 restructure of amateur rugby league in Great Britain. Bridgend Blue Bulls
The Blue Bulls (known as Bridgend Blue Bulls RLFC between 2003 and 2012) are a rugby league side based in Pyle, Wales. They play in the Welsh Premier of the Rugby League Conference. They are the most successful amateur rugby league team in Wales, having won the Welsh Premier a record ten times in their two incarnations, as well as winning the Harry Jepson Trophy twice against teams from England, Wales and Scotland. History The Blue Bulls were formed in 2003 and joined the newly formed Welsh Division of the Rugby League Conference. Huddersfield Underbank Rangers
Underbank Rangers are a rugby league team based in Holmfirth near Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. They play in the Yorkshire Men's League. Underbank are the second oldest rugby league club in the world - but the longest running rugby league club in the world (with the oldest having folded a few times) History The club was founded in 1884. During the early 1900s Underbank launched the career of rugby league legend Harold Wagstaff who would go on to be the first name in the Rugby League's Hall of Fame. Crusaders Rugby League
Crusaders Rugby League () was a professional rugby league club based in Bridgend and later in Wrexham, Wales. They played for six seasons in the Rugby Football League competitions, including three years in the Super League from 2009 to 2011. Founded as Celtic Crusaders in 2005 initially based in Bridgend, the club played in National League Two from 2006 to 2007 and in National League One in 2008. In 2009 they were awarded a Super League licence, and in 2010 they moved from Bridgend to Wrexham in North Wales, and dropped "Celtic" from their name. After three years in the Super League, on 26 July 2011 the club announced they were withdrawing their application to remain in the league for the 2012–15 seasons. Featherstone Lions
Featherstone Lions are an amateur rugby league club from Featherstone, West Yorkshire who play in the National Conference League and the Yorkshire Men's League. The juniors (U7 - U18) play in the Yorkshire Junior & Youth League. The club also has open age women and 3 girls' teams. Their home ground is the Millpond Stadium. They are the town's second side, after Featherstone Rovers who play in the Championship. History Featherstone Lions are the result of a merger between Jubilee Hotel and Traveller's amateur sides in the early 1990s. Bramley Buffaloes
Bramley Buffaloes is an amateur rugby league club based in West Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. The club was formed in 2000 following the demise of the original Bramley club that they are considered a continuation of. History 2000–2004: foundations At the end of the 1999 season Bramley RLFC resigned from the Northern Ford Premiership after years of financial issues. The club applied to rejoin the Northern Ford Premiership in 2000 with the intention of becoming a feeder club for Leeds Rhinos and playing home games at Farsley Celtics Throstle Nest however they were rejected in favour of a bid from Gateshead Thunder. Bradford Dudley Hill
Bradford Dudley Hill RLFC is an amateur rugby league team based in Bradford, West Yorkshire. Originally formed after the First World War, the club was re-established in 1948. History Early years Established just after the First World War, Dudley Hill originally played on the old Bierley estate. They were led by rugby league player Stanley Brogden who, after his career as a stand-off with Leeds, Yorkshire and Great Britain, wanted to put something back into the grassroots of rugby league. The club was disbanded prior to the Second World War, and was reformed in 1948, due to Les Brady, who was running the successful Bierley under 18 team at the time, Vincent Heslop and Danny Cullerton. Warrington Wizards
Woolston Rovers are a rugby league team based in Warrington. The open age teams play in the National Division of the Rugby League Conference. History Woolston Rovers Woolston Rovers Rugby Club was founded at the Lido Country Club on Manchester Road, Woolston, Cheshire, in 1959. The first game played by the Woolston Rovers was against Cadishead in the 1960–61 season, with Woolston losing 58–8. Woolston had no pitch for the first two seasons and played all their games away from home. At the start of the third year, they acquired a pitch in Victoria Park, where they played until they moved to Bennetts Recreation Ground, Padgate. The Jubilee Pavilion at Bennetts Recreation Ground was opened in 1978. Along with the clubhouse and changing facilities, Rovers had three playing pitches. Scottish National League (rugby League)
The Scottish National League is an amateur men's rugby league competition and the first tier of domestic rugby league in Scotland. The league formed in 1997 under the name The Scottish Conference three years after the formalisation of the sport in Scotland with the founding of Scotland Rugby League. In 2007, the league was incorporated into the wider British rugby league system and renamed the RLC Scottish Regional forming one of an evental nine fifth tier leagues. The competition was formed in 1997 as one of the two founding divisions of the Rugby League Conference.
