Reign
A reign is the period of a person's or dynasty's occupation of the office of monarch of a nation (e.g., King of Saudi Arabia, Saudi Arabia, List of Belgian monarchs, Belgium, Co-princes of Andorra, Andorra), of a people (e.g., List of Frankish kings, the Franks, List of Zulu kings, the Zulus) or of a spiritual community (e.g., Pope, Catholicism, Dalai Lama, Tibetan Buddhism, Aga Khan, Nizari Ismailism). In most hereditary monarchies and some elective monarchies (e.g., Holy Roman Empire) there have been no limits on the duration of a sovereign's reign or incumbent, incumbency, nor is there a term limit, term of office. A queen regnant (: queens regnant) is a female monarch, equivalent in rank, title and position to a king. A Commonwealth realm is a sovereign state in the Commonwealth of Nations that has the same constitutional monarch and head of state as the other realms. The current monarch is King Charles III.
