R.E.B.E.L.S.
Revolutionary Elite Brigade to Eradicate L.E.G.I.O.N. Supremacy (R.E.B.E.L.S.) is the name of two separate fictional revolutionary paramilitary groups in the DC Comics Universe. Both incarnations have been L.E.G.I.O.N. adversaries and are led by Vril Dox. Publication history ''R.E.B.E.L.S. ’94'', ''R.E.B.E.L.S. ’95'', and ''R.E.B.E.L.S. ’96'' is a comic-book series of contiguous numbering published by DC Comics from October 1994 to March 1996 and created by Tom "Tennessee" Peyer. Captain Comet
Captain Comet (Adam Blake) is a superhero appearing in American Comic Books published by DC Comics, created by editor Julius Schwartz, writer John Broome, and artist Carmine Infantino. Once a minor character in the DC Comics canon, he occupies an almost unique position in DC Comics history as a superhero who was created between the two great superhero comics periods, the Golden Age and the Silver Age. His early stories fall into a no-man's land, sometimes referred to as "The Atomic Age" because of the recurrent science-fiction themes of most comics of the period, when very few superheroes comics were published and fewer than 12 short-lived superhero characters were introduced. ''L.E.G.I.O.N.'' is a science fiction comic book created by Keith Giffen, Bill Mantlo and Todd McFarlane and published by DC Comics. The principal subject of the comic book is a team of fictional extraterrestrial superheroes. The characters first appeared in '' Invasion!'' #1 (December 1988). The original series chronicled the formation and activity of an interplanetary police force whose mission was to act as a peace-keeping force in their galaxy. Publication history ''Invasion!'' Andy Clarke (comics)
Andy Clarke is a British comics artist who came to prominence working at '' 2000 AD'' and became known to a wider audience with his later work at DC Comics, notably the 2009 volume of '' R.E.B.E.L.S.'' and various Batman-related publications. Biography Andy Clarke started his career in the series ''Sinister Dexter'' in the anthology '' 2000 AD'', becoming one of the main artists on the story between 1998 and 2004. While working there he would also work on some of the anthology's other flagship titles, like ''Judge Dredd'' and ''Nikolai Dante'', and one-off stories like ''Thirteen'' and '' Snow/Tiger''. Starro (also known as Starro the Conqueror) is a supervillain appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The character first appeared in ''The Brave and the Bold'' #28 (February–March 1960). It was created by Gardner Fox and Mike Sekowsky. Starro is the first villain to face the original Justice League of America. Kanjar Ro is a supervillain appearing in comic books published by DC Comics. Publication history He first appeared in ''Justice League of America'' #3 (February 1961) in a story entitled "The Slave Ship of Space" and was created by Gardner Fox and Mike Sekowsky. Fictional character biography Kanjar Ro is the dictator of the planet Dhor in the Antares star system. Lobo (DC Comics)
Lobo is a character appearing in comic books published by DC Comics. The Lobo character was created by Roger Slifer and Keith Giffen, and he first appeared in ''Omega Men'' #3 (June 1983). Lobo is an alien from the utopian planet of Czarnia, and he works as an interstellar mercenary and bounty hunter. Lobo was first introduced as a hardened villain in the 1980s, but he soon fell out of use with writers. He remained in limbo until his revival as a bounty hunter with his own comic in the early 1990s. Adam Strange is a fictional space adventurer appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. Created by editor Julius Schwartz with a costume designed by Murphy Anderson, he first appeared in ''Showcase'' #17 (November 1958). Tom Peyer
Tom Peyer (born February 23, 1954) is an American comic book creator and editor. He is known for his 1999 revisioning of Golden Age super-hero Hourman, as well as his work on the Legion of Super-Heroes in the 1990s. An editor at DC Comics/Vertigo from 1987 to 1993, he served as assistant editor on Neil Gaiman's ''Sandman''. Peyer has also worked for Marvel Comics, Wildstorm, and Bongo Comics. With John Layman, he wrote the 2007–2009 ''Tek Jansen'' comic book, based on the Stephen Colbert character. Antony J. L. Bedard is an American writer and editor who has worked in the comic book industry from the early 1990s through the present. He is best known for his work at CrossGen Comics, where he was under exclusive contract, and for his run writing Marvel Comics '' X-Men'' spin-off '' Exiles''. Background Back in Tony's college days at the Alpha Gamma Chapter of the Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity he would write comic book characters for all of the brothers. His personal character was Tonan the Barbarian, who he posed as in his 1989 composite photo while the President of the Fraternity. Career Tony began his work in the comics industry by working at Valiant Comics as an intern.
