Qihoo 360 (; approximate pronunciation CHEE-hoo), full name 360 Security Technology Inc., is a Chinese internet security company that has developed the antivirus software programs 360 Safeguard and 360 Mobile Safe, the Web browser 360 Secure Browser, and the mobile application store 360 Mobile Assistant. It was founded by Zhou Hongyi and Qi Xiangdong in June 2005. The company's head office is in Chaoyang District, Beijing. 360 Secure Browser (360 Security Browser) or 360 Safe Browser () is a web browser developed by the Qihoo company of Beijing, China. It was first released in September 2008. The browser by default renders the webpage using the WebKit-based engine adapted for Google Chrome, Blink, and when running in compatibility mode, it renders webpages using the Trident engine found in Internet Explorer. 360 Safeguard
360 Safeguard () and 360 Total Security is a program developed by Qihoo 360, an internet security company based in China. 360 Safeguard's focus is on stopping malware such as computer viruses and trojan horses and providing security patches for Microsoft Windows. 360 Safeguard trojan horse scanner is cloud-based. A heuristics engine is built into the scanner. 360 Safeguard uses Avira engine in addition to own engines, while 360 Total Security has the Kunpeng engine, made by Qihoo. Dispute with Tencent In 2010, 360 Safeguard analyzed the QQ protocol and accused QQ of automatically scanning users' computers and of uploading their personal information to QQ's servers without users' consent. In response, Tencent called 360 itself malware and denied users with 360 installed access to some QQ services.
