David Quibell, 1st Baron Quibell
David John Kinsley Quibell, 1st Baron Quibell (21 December 1879 – 16 April 1962) was a British builder, contractor and Labour Party politician. Background and education David John Kinsley Quibell was the first born child of David John Quibell (1858-1927) and Rebecca Edlington Kinsley (1861-1880), of Messingham, Lincolnshire, and was educated at the Messingham Church of England School in Lincolnshire. He worked as a builder and contractor. Political career Quibell was elected Member of Parliament for Brigg in Lincolnshire at the 1929 general election. He lost his seat two years later, when Labour split over the decision of its leader, Ramsay MacDonald, to form a National Government, but was re-elected at the 1935 general election. He was a signatory to "Post-war Forest Policy" published by the Forestry Commission in 1943. James Quibell
James Edward Quibell (11 November 1867 – 5 June 1935) was a British Egyptologist. Life Quibbell was born in Newport, Shropshire. He married the Scottish artist and archaeologist Annie Abernethie Pirie in 1900.Bierbrier, M. L. 2012. ''Who Was Who in Egyptology'' 4th edn. London: Egypt Exploration Society. pp. 450. He was educated at Adams' Grammar School in Newport and Christ Church, Oxford. He became fascinated by the antiquities, and offered himself as a pupil to Professor Flinders Petrie, with whom he worked at Coptos in 1893, then at Nagada, Ballas, Thebes, El Kab, and Hierakonpolis in successive years, including the Ramesseum. He also assisted Cecil Firth in his excavations in Saqqara. Michelle Quibell
Michelle Quibell (born April 23, 1984) is an American professional squash player. She was a four-year member of Yale's women's squash squad during a period of unprecedented success for the program. She reached a career-high world ranking of World No. 103 in March 2005. Quibell was the two-time NCAA Division 1 Champion. Quibell graduated in 2006 from Yale University with a degree in Environmental Studies and graduated in 2011 with a dual MBA / Master of Environmental Science degree from the University of Michigan. Quibell, Ontario
Quibell is an unincorporated place and railway point in Unorganized Kenora District in northwestern Ontario, Canada. It is named after William A. Quibell (1857-1917), a Police Commissioner in Durham County, Ontario. The Quibell Dam on the Wabigoon River lies to the east. Quibell is on Ontario Highway 609, which arrives from the community of Red Lake Road on Ontario Highway 105 at the east and heads north to Clay Lake. Quibell Park Stadium is a stadium in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire, owned by North Lincolnshire Council, primarily used for athletics, cycling, and American football. The stadium consists of a velodrome, an athletics track, and a sports field. It is the current home stadium for the Scunthorpe Alphas American football team who from 2021 will be a member of division 2 north east BAFA National Leagues.
