Quezaltepeque is a municipality in the La Libertad department of El Salvador. It is located about 15 km from San Salvador. The word Quezaltepeque is a Nahuat word meaning "hills of quetzal." A quetzal is a bird that used to live around the area of Quezaltepeque. High levels of deforestation forced the bird to migrate to other areas. El Salvador
El Salvador, officially the Republic of El Salvador, is a country in Central America. It is bordered on the northeast by Honduras, on the northwest by Guatemala, and on the south by the Pacific Ocean. El Salvador's capital and largest city is San Salvador. Salvador Sánchez Cerén
Salvador Sánchez Cerén (; born 18 June 1944), also known by his Leonel González, is a Salvadoran former politician, guerrilla commander, and school teacher who served as the 80th president of El Salvador from 2014 to 2019. He took office on 1 June 2014, after winning the 2014 presidential election as the candidate of the left-wing Farabundo Martí National Liberation Front (FMLN). He previously served as the 49th vice president under Mauricio Funes from 2009 to 2014. Alfonso Quijada Urías
Alfonso Quijada Urías (born 8 December 1940), is a Salvadoran poet and an author. Quijada has published various poems such as the anthology "De aquí en adelante" (San Salvador), in conjunction with the poets José Roberto Cea, Manlio Argueta, Tirso Canales and Roberto Armijo. Many of his works deal with the effects of war and the realities of urban life in Central America. Biography Quijada was born in Quezaltepeque, in the La Libertad Department of El Salvador. The Farabundo Martí National Liberation Front (, abbreviated FMLN) is a Salvadoran political party and former guerrilla rebel group. Juan Manuel de Jesús Flores Cornejo (born 15 October 1965), nicknamed "El Chino" ( Spanish for "The Chinese One"), is a Salvadoran politician who has served as the secretary-general of the Farabundo Martí National Liberation Front (FMLN) since 2024.
