Queen's Silver Jubilee Cup
The Queen's Silver Jubilee Cup is a set weights Group 1 Thoroughbred horse race in Hong Kong, run over 1400 metres, with the total purse of HK$10m in 2014/15, approximately US$1.3m. In the 2005/06 season, it was upgraded to Group 1 status and has since become the final leg of the Hong Kong Speed Series (formerly known as the Champion Sprint Series). In 2020, Beauty Heritage won the Queen's Silver Jubilee Cup for the third consecutive time. Douglas Whyte (born 15 Nov 1971 in Johannesburg, South Africa) is a former horse racing jockey and is now a horse trainer. He became Hong Kong champion jockey in the 2000-2001 season and won 13 consecutive titles, a record in flat racing. In 2013-14, he relinquished that title to Zac Purton, finishing third with 88 wins to give him an accumulated total of more than 1,600 races in Hong Kong with career stake earnings of more than $HK 1.3 billion. Zac Purton (born 3 January 1983) is an Australian jockey who has won the most races in Hong Kong racing history and won the Hong Kong Jockeys' Championship on seven occasions. Purton is married to Nicole Purton, the daughter of Hall of Fame jockey Jim Cassidy. Zac and Nicole have two children, Cash and Roxy. Darren Beadman
Darren Beadman (born 17 November 1965) is an Australian champion jockey. In 2007 at age 41 he was the youngest jockey ever to be inducted into the Australian Racing Hall of Fame, being the first to do so while still active in the industry. Early career Beadman first gained notice while winning the Sydney apprentice jockeys' title in his first season of 1982–83, managing to finish second in 1983-84 and winning again in 1984–85. Beadman piloted Inspired to the winning post in 1984 in taking Australia's premier two-year-old event, the Golden Slipper Stakes, for his first Group 1 win. He repeated that feat on Guineas in 1997. While still a teenager he rode in France for John Fellows winning the 1985 Prix Morny on Regal State.
