Qatar Emir Cup
Emir of Qatar Cup (), also known as the Emir Cup, but changed to Amir Cup starting in 2019, is an association football tournament played every season by all first and second division teams in Qatar. The tournament is played in a knockout system, starting with the round of 16. If there is no winner after regulation time, a penalty shootout decides the winner. History The Emir of Qatar Cup is the biggest football cup in the country. The cup was originally only contested by first division teams, but in 1999 the Qatar Football Association decided to allow all second division teams to participate. The cup was played for the first time in 1972, and was won by Al Ahli. The most successful teams are Al Sadd SC with 18 titles and Al-Arabi SC with eight titles. In total, eight teams have won the competition. Ali Absi was the first foreign referee to officiate a match in the first edition of the Emir Cup. Al-Gharafa Sports Club () is a Qatari multi-sports club based in the Al Gharrafa district of Al Rayyan municipality. The club is best known for its football team, although it also has teams for other sports. The club was established on 6 June 1979 as Al-Ittihad and later officially incorporated into the Qatar Football Association on 23 September of that same year. The club was officially renamed to its current form in 2004 to better represent the district of Al-Gharafa, where the club is located. The club was founded by Sheikh Mohammed bin Jassim Al-Thani, Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim Al-Thani, Sheikh Hamad bin Faisal Al-Thani, Sheikh Ali bin Abdullah Al-Thani and Saad Mohammed Al-Rumaihi. In a documentary produced by Al Kass sports channel about the history of the club, Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim mentioned that the idea was initially suggested by Saad Al-Rumaihi who was working as a sports journalist at the '' Al Raya'' newspaper. Al-Duhail Sports Club (), formerly Lekhwiya SC, is a Qatari sports club, best known for its football team, which plays in the Qatar Stars League. The club is based in the Duhail district in the city of Doha and plays its home games at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium. El Jaish SC
El-Jaish Sports Club () was a Qatari multi-sports club from 2011 to 2017, based in the Al-Duhail area of Doha. The association football team played in the Qatar Stars League. The team won the Qatargas League prior to 2011, but were not eligible for promotion and as a result were not declared as the champions of the league. It was promoted to the first division, the Stars League, the first year after it was made eligible. The club also had participations in other sports, most notably in handball where its team has previously achieved 3rd place in both the GCC Handball Championship and the Asian Club Handball Championship. Al-Sailiya Sports Club () is a Qatari professional Association football, football club currently competing in the Qatari Second Division. They are based in the Qatari capital Doha and play their home games at Hamad bin Khalifa Stadium. History Al Sailiya were founded as ''Al-Qadsiyah Sports Club'' on 10 October 1995. The club won the 1998 edition of the Qatari Second Division Cup under the leadership of Iraqi coach Wamidh Munir. In 2003, the club adopted its current name, ''Al Sailiya''. They were relegated in 2006 after finishing at the bottom of the Qatar Stars League.
