Qadir Bakhsh
Ghulam Qadir Bakhsh (10 October 1946 – 2008), was a Pakistani footballer who played as a midfielder. Nicknamed as ''Putla'', Qadir played in the 1960s and 1970s and captained the Pakistan national team in 1970. Early life Bakhsh was born on 10 October 1947 in the Lyari locality of Karachi. He studied at Jamia Islamia Khada School and Private Education till intermediate level, where he started playing football at school level. He later joined local club Baghdad Sports. Club career Bakhsh played football at senior level for Dhaka PIDC, Dhaka Mohammedan, Dilkusha SC, and Victoria SC in the Dhaka First Division League. He also played for PWD Sports Club and Karachi Municipal Corporation football teams in 1971 and the latter in 1972. Lyari Town
Lyari Town (, ) is named after the historic locality of Lyari. Lyari Town was the smallest borough (called "town" in Karachi) by area, but also the most densely populated. Lyari Town was formed in 2001 as part of the Local Government Ordinance 2001, and was subdivided into 11 union councils. The town system was disbanded in 2011, and Lyari Town was re-organized and merged into Karachi South in 2015 before it was part of District Karachi West. According to the 2023 Pakistani census, the population of Lyari Subdivision is 949,878. National Football Championship (Pakistan)
The National Football Championship alternatively spelled National Soccer Championship was the men's highest level football competition from 1948 to 2003. Founded by the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) in 1948, it was mainly held on knock-out basis. It was eventually replaced by the Pakistan Premier League from the 2004–05 season in order to professionalize the sport in Pakistan. Until 1971, it was run in parallel with the Dhaka League in East Pakistan. The National Football League era though saw Karachi based Pakistan Airlines with most championships, winning the competition nine times. Younus Rana
Younus Rana (born 10 April 1941), is a Pakistani former footballer and manager. Rana played as a midfielder for the Pakistan national team in the 1960s and 1970s. He is also one of the players to have played and served as head coach of the national team. Early life Rana was born on 10 April 1941 in Hoshiarpur, in the Punjab province of British India. After the partition, his family moved to Multan where he represented the football team of Emerson University. Club career Rana represented the Pakistan Railways departmental team from 1961 till 1979, earning the captaincy in 1965. Football Club Kairat () is a professional football club based in Almaty, which plays in the Kazakhstan Premier League, the highest level of Kazakh football.
