Proof Of Youth
''Proof of Youth'' is the second studio album by English band The Go! Team. It was released on 10 September 2007 in the United Kingdom by Memphis Industries and a day later in the United States by Sub Pop. ''Proof of Youth'' was preceded by two singles: " Grip Like a Vice", released on 2 July 2007, and "Doing It Right", released on 3 September 2007. The first pressing of the album on Compact Disc includes a second disc, with six additional tracks in the UK or four in the US. Composition ''Proof of Youth'' encompasses various genres of music, including indie rock, hip-hop and dance. The album features vocal contributions from Bonde do Rolê's Marina Ribatski, Solex, the Double Dutch Divas, the Rappers Delight Club, and Public Enemy's Chuck D. The Go! Team
The Go! Team are an English six-piece band from Brighton, England. The band initially began as a solo project conceived by Ian Parton; however, after the unexpected success of The Go! Team's debut album, '' Thunder, Lightning, Strike'', Parton recruited band members to play for live performances and subsequent albums. Musically, the band combines indie rock and garage rock with a mixture of funk and Bollywood soundtracks, double Dutch chants, old school hip hop and distorted guitars. Their songs are a mix of live instrumentation and samples from various sources. The band's vocals also vary between performances: while live vocals are handled mostly by lead vocalist Ninja, vocals on record also feature sampled and guest voices. ''MSN Music'' was a part of MSN's web services. It delivered music news, music videos, spotlights on new music, artist information, and live performances of artists. The website also served as a digital music store from 2004 to 2008. History In 2004, Microsoft created an MSN Music download store to compete with Apple's iTunes Music Store, though its sales in comparison were negligible. The store utilized Microsoft's Windows Media Player application and proprietary Windows Media Format files (protected .wma files). It started out with 1.5 million songs, but decreased to 1.1 million songs due to lagging sales and lack of real support from Microsoft. Marina Ribatski
Marina Evelyn Vello Ribatski (born December 10, 1984), also known as Marina Gasolina, Marina Ribatski and MC Marina Vello, is a Brazilian singer and the former MC/Singer/Songwriter for Brazilian Funk Carioca band Bonde do Rolê. She decided to leave the band in December 2007 due to problems within the band. Her musical influences include Hole. She was formerly a literature student at the Federal University of Paraná. Life and career After playing in several punk bands during her teenage years, Marina founded and fronted Domino signed, Brazilian baile funk band Bonde Do Role. Bonde Do Rolê
Bonde do Rolê () is a Brazilian funk carioca-influenced electropop group from Curitiba, Paraná state, and consists of MC's Pedro D'Eyrot, Laura Taylor, and DJ/MC Rodrigo Gorky. In 2006, ''Rolling Stone'' described the group as "Brazilian Party Starters" and one of the "Top 10 Bands to Watch". Bonde do Rolê started in Curitiba in the south of Brazil, mixing riffs (ranging from the Scorpions' “Rock You Like a Hurricane” to Alice in Chains' “Man in the Box”) with funk carioca (also known as Brazilian funk). Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Sub Pop is a record label founded in 1986 by Bruce Pavitt and Jonathan Poneman.
