Portland is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Portland Township, Cerro Gordo County, Iowa, United States. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 35. History Portland's population in 1925 was 17. Geography Portland is located in northern Iowa in eastern Cerro Gordo County, along the northeast bank of the Winnebago River. The Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) is a database of name and locative information about more than two million physical and cultural features throughout the United States and its territories, Antarctica, and the associated states of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, and Palau. It is a type of gazetteer. Mason City is a city and the county seat of Cerro Gordo County, Iowa, United States. The population was 27,338 in the 2020 census, a decline from 29,172 in the 2000 census.
