Popsicle was a Swedish pop music, pop group in Piteå, Sweden, which together with This Perfect Day (band), This Perfect Day, The Wannadies and Brainpool (band), Brainpool started the 1990s indiepop wave in Sweden. History The band's four members, Andreas Mattsson (vocals, guitar), Fredrik Norberg (guitar, vocals), PA Wikander (drums) and Kenneth Wikstrom (Bass guitar, bass), later replaced by Arvid Lind, formed the band in Stockholm in 1991 and released their first mini-album ''Template (album), Template'' (1992) on Skellefteå label A West Side Fabrication. Later that year they issued ''Lacquer (album), Lacquer'' which reached number 34 in the national charts and included the song "Hey Princess". Piteå
Piteå () is a locality and the seat of Piteå Municipality in Norrbotten County, Sweden. Piteå is Sweden's 58th largest city, with a population of 23,326. Geography Piteå is located at the mouth of the Pite River ( sv, Piteälven), at the shore of the Bay of Bothnia. The central part is located on an islet called Häggholmen, which due to post-glacial rebound almost has become a part of the mainland; the land in northern Sweden rises at a rate of up to per year. Lacquer is a type of hard and usually shiny coating or finish applied to materials such as wood or metal. It is most often made from resin extracted from trees and waxes and has been in use since antiquity. Ride is an English rock band formed in Oxford in 1988. The band consists of vocalists and guitarists Andy Bell and Mark Gardener, drummer Laurence "Loz" Colbert and bassist Steve Queralt. They are recognised as one of the key pioneers of shoegaze, an alternative rock subgenre that emerged to prominence in the United Kingdom during the early 1990s. The band's first two albums, ''Nowhere'' (1990) and ''Going Blank Again'' (1992), are critically acclaimed as two of the greatest shoegaze albums of all time. The latter's lead single, " Leave Them All Behind", was the band's most commercially successful song, reaching No. 9 on the UK Singles Chart. My Bloody Valentine (often stylised as my bloody valentine) is an Irish-English rock band formed in Dublin in 1983 and consisting since 1987 of founding members Kevin Shields (vocals, guitar, sampler), Colm Ó Cíosóig (drums, sampler) with Bilinda Butcher (vocals, guitar) and Debbie Googe (bass). Lars Filip Hammar (born March 26, 1975) and Fredrik Wikingsson (born August 16, 1973), commonly known as Filip and Fredrik, are two Swedish writers, television hosts and journalists both known for their youthful, though intellectual, humour and unconventional journalism.
