Petrovsky Park (Moscow Metro)
Petrovsky Park (russian: Петровский парк) is a station on the Bolshaya Koltsevaya line of the Moscow Metro. It served the eastern terminus of the line until 30 December 2018, when the extension of Bolshaya Koltsevaya to Savyolovskaya opened. It opened on 26 February 2018 as one of five initial stations on the new line. Petrovsky Park allows transfers to Dinamo Station on the Zamoskvoretskaya line since 29 December 2020. Location It is in the Aeroport District of Moscow near Petrovsky Park and Petrovsky Palace in northern Moscow. Moscow Metro Station
There are 250 active stations of the Moscow Metro. Of these, 209 on Moscow Metro proper, and some additional ones that are marketed by Moscow Metro: 6 stations of Moscow Monorail and 31 stations of the Moscow Central Circle. Two stations have been closed. As of 2017 several new stations are under construction or being planned. One station is reserved for future service ( Delovoy Tsentr for the Bolshaya Koltsevaya line). Island Platform
An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost reasons. They are also useful within larger stations where local and express services for the same direction of travel can be provided from opposite sides of the same platform thereby simplifying transfers between the two tracks. Bolshaya Koltsevaya Line
The Bolshaya Koltsevaya line (russian: Большая кольцевая линия), known in English as the Big Circle Line, designated Line 11 and 11A is an under construction rapid transit line of the Moscow Metro. When complete, it will become the third circle line on the system, running outside of the existing circle Koltsevaya line and interlocking with Moscow Central Circle, with a temporary branch to Delovoy Tsentr station in Moscow International Business Center. Savyolovskaya (Bolshaya Koltsevaya Line)
Savyolovskaya (russian: Савёловская) is a station on the Bolshaya Koltsevaya line of the Moscow Metro. It opened on 30 December 2018. Until December 2020, this station also served as the terminus of Solntsevskaya line. During planning and construction, this station was named "Nizhnyaya Maslovka" (russian: Нижняя Масловка) for the street on which it is located. Before opening, the metro changed the name to be consistent with the other connected stations. History Construction on the station began in 2012. At first, the city intended to use typical underground tunneling methods for the station, which is 65 meters (213 feet) underground. Dinamo (russian: Дина́мо) is a Moscow Metro station on the Zamoskvoretskaya line. It opened on 11 September 1938 as part of the second stage of the system. It was named for the former Dinamo Stadium, the home stadium of FC Dynamo Moscow. Passengers may transfer directly to the Bolshaya Koltsevaya line via Petrovsky Park station. Petrovsky Palace or Petroff Palace, is a palace located in Moscow on Leningradsky Prospect. It was founded in 1780 under the orders of Catherine the Great. History Construction of the palace In the 1770s Catherine the Great decided to build a new palace to be used for short stopovers en route from St Petersburg to Moscow. Apart from being of practical use, the erection of the Petrovsky Palace also had a symbolical nature and was connected with Russia's victory in the Russian-Turkish War and with the signing of the Treaty of Kucuk-Kainarji.
