Peter Wagner (Manitoba Politician)
Peter Wagner (June 6, 1916 in Fisher Branch, Manitoba – August 13, 1995) was a politician in Manitoba, Canada. He served in the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba from 1958 to 1962, at first for the Cooperative Commonwealth Federation and later for its successor party, the NDP. Of German and Ukrainian background, Wagner was educated in Manitoba and worked as a farmer. Before entering politics, he was president of the local Cooperative Association and the Pool Association, also serving as chair of the local school board and as director of the Manitoba Farmer's Union in 1957. He married Dora Mamchuk, who died in March 2012. He was first elected to the Manitoba legislature in the 1958 provincial election, defeated incumbent Liberal-Progressive Nicholas Bachynsky by 56 votes in the mid-northern constituency of Fisher. Peter Wagner (social Theorist)
Peter Wagner is a German social and political theorist. His research brings together social and political philosophy and theory with the comparative-historical sociology of modern societies in Europe, Latin America and southern Africa. He has done comparative research in the history of the social sciences and has contributed to debates about the so-called Axial Age, while his recent work has addressed questions of historical progress and social and political transformations. He is a former Professor of Social and Political Theory at the European University Institute, Florence, and a former Professor of Sociology at the University of Warwick. At present he is an ICREA Research Professor at the University of Barcelona. Peter Joseph Wagner
Peter Joseph Wagner (August 14, 1795 – September 13, 1884) was a U.S. Representative from New York. Born at Wagners Hollow in the town of Palatine, New York, Wagner moved to Fort Plain, New York, with his parents in 1805. He completed preparatory studies. He attended Fairfield Academy in 1810 and 1811. He was graduated from Union College, Schenectady, New York, in 1816. He studied law. He was admitted to the bar in September 1819 and commenced practice at Fort Plain, New York. He also engaged in agricultural pursuits and banking. He was an unsuccessful candidate for election in 1834 to the Twenty-fourth Congress. Wagner was elected as a Whig to the Twenty-sixth Congress (March 4, 1839 – March 3, 1841). He served as chairman of the Committee on Expenditures in the Department of War (Twenty-sixth Congress). He continued the practice of law at Fort Plain until May 1873, when he retired. Peter "Peavy" Wagner (born 22 December 1964) is a German heavy metal musician best known as the lead singer, bassist and main songwriter of Rage. Biography Wagner was born in Herne, North Rhine-Westphalia, the second of four children. His parents, both passionate amateur musicians, tried to inspire their kids for music since childhood. Eventually, Wagner learned his first instrument, the classical guitar. He started to play on the electrical guitar a few years later and, inspired by Lemmy from Motörhead, finally switched to the electric bass in the early 1980s. In 1983, Wagner founded together with the two guitar players Jochen Schroeder and Alf Meyerratken the heavy metal band Avenger. In 1986, the band's name was changed to Rage. Wagner is the only member of the band to have stayed in it throughout its history. He currently performs as the band's bassist and singer. Pete Wagner (born January 26, 1955) is an American political cartoonist, activist, author, scholar and caricature artist whose work has been published in over 300 newspapers and other periodicals. His cartoons and activist theatrics have been the subject of controversy and frequent media attention. Early life Originally from a working-class neighborhood Bay View, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, who also lived and worked in Madison, Wisconsin and Minneapolis, Minnesota.
