Peristeri B.C. (Greek language, Greek: Περιστερίου K.A.E.) is a Greek professional basketball club that was founded on October 22, 1971. The club is located in Peristeri, Greece, which is a suburban municipality in west Athens. It is a part of the G.S. Peristeri (Γ.Σ. Περιστερίου) sports club, multi-sports club. The club's full name is Gymnastikos Syllogos Peristeriou K.A.E. (Γυμναστικός Σύλλογος Περιστερίου K.A.E.). The club's emblem is the Doves as symbols, dove symbol, and the club's colors are yellow and blue. For the 2022–2023 season, the team will compete in the Greek Basket League, the first-tier league in Greece, as well as the Basketball Champions League. Greek Basket League
The Greek Basket League (GBL), often also referred to as the Greek A1 Basketball League, or Greek Basketball Championship (originally called Panhellenic Basketball Championship), and also known as the Stoiximan Basket League for sponsorship reasons, is the first tier level professional basketball league in Greece. It is run by HEBA ( el, ΕΣΑΚΕ, link=no), under the legal authority of the Hellenic Basketball Federation (E.O.K.). It is the highest-tier level of the Greek league system. The GBL plays under FIBA rules and currently consists of 13 teams, with the lowest-placed team relegated to the A2 Basket League and replaced by the winner of the play-offs of that tier. It runs from October to June, with teams playing 22 games each during the regular season, and the top 8 teams then competing in the playoffs. Doves As Symbols
Doves, typically domestic pigeons white in plumage, are used in many settings as symbols of peace, freedom, or love. FIBA EuroChallenge
FIBA EuroChallenge (called the FIBA Europe League in 2003–05, and FIBA EuroCup in 2005–08) was the 3rd-tier level transnational men's professional continental club basketball competition in Europe, from 2003 to 2015. It was organized and run by FIBA Europe. It is not to be confused with the FIBA EuroCup Challenge – the now defunct 4th-tier level transnational men's professional continental club basketball competition in Europe, which was also organized and run by FIBA Europe, and played during the 2002–03 to 2006–07 seasons. FIBA EuroCup Challenge
The FIBA EuroCup Challenge was the 4th-tier level (it was the 3rd-tier level during the inaugural 2002–03 season), transnational professional continental club basketball competition in Europe. It was run and organized by FIBA Europe. The league was founded in 2002, and ceased in 2007. Konstantinos "Kostas" Tsartsaris ( el, Κωνσταντίνος "Κώστας" Τσαρτσαρής; born October 17, 1979 in Veria, Greece), is a retired Greek professional basketball player and coach, who spent most of his playing career with the Greek League team Panathinaikos. Milan Gurović ( sr-cyrl, Милан Гуровић; born 17 June 1975) is a Serbian former professional basketball player and current basketball coach.
