Paul Grümmer
Paul Grümmer (26 February 1879 – 30 October 1965) was a German-born cellist and teacher. Grümmer was born in Gera in Thuringia. He studied at the Leipzig Conservatory with Julius Klengel. He was well known as a member of the Busch Quartet, founded by Adolf Busch. He taught at the Vienna Conservatory, and his students include German-born conductor and cellist Nikolaus Harnoncourt and child prodigy Elsa Hilger Elsa Hilger (April 13, 1904 – May 17, 2005) was an American cellist. Gera
Gera is a city in the German state of Thuringia. With around 93,000 inhabitants, it is the third-largest city in Thuringia after Erfurt and Jena as well as the easternmost city of the ''Thüringer Städtekette'', an almost straight string of cities consisting of the six largest Thuringian cities from Eisenach in the west, via Gotha, Erfurt, Weimar and Jena to Gera in the east.
