Přísaha Politicians
Přísaha () is a right-wing populist political party in the Czech Republic, founded in 2021 by Robert Šlachta. History Foundation Šlachta became known to the public as the investigator in a political corruption scandal in 2013. Following media speculation in 2020 that he could found a new political party, Šlachta announced his new party at a press conference on 27 January 2021, stating that it would campaign against corruption, and would participate in the 2021 general election. Šlachta's party is named ''Přísaha'', taken from the title of his autobiography, ''Třicet let pod přísahou'' (). Šlachta has also criticised the Czech government for its handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia (, KSČM) is a communist party in the Czech Republic. As of 2022, KSČM has a membership of 20,450. Sources variously describe the party as either left-wing or Far-left politics, far-left on the political spectrum. Social Democracy (, SOCDEM), known as the Czech Social Democratic Party (, ČSSD) until 10 June 2023, is a social democratic political party in the Czech Republic. Sitting on the centre-left of the political spectrum and holding pro-European views, it is a member of the Party of European Socialists, the Socialist International, and the Progressive Alliance. Masaryk Democratic Academy is the party-affiliated's think tank. The ČSSD was a junior coalition party within Andrej Babiš' Second Cabinet's minority government from June 2018, and was a senior coalition party from 1998 to 2006 and from 2013 to 2017.
