Antonín Procházka is a Czech film, television and stage actor, playwright and director. Biography Procházka was born 25 December 1953 in Kroměříž, Czechoslovakia. He studied at the Faculty of Theatre of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. He is husband of actress Štěpánka Křesťanová and father of actor Antonín Procházka jr. Nusle Bridge
Nusle Bridge () is a prestressed concrete viaduct in Prague, Czech Republic. It connects Prague 2 and Prague 4, across a valley which forms part of the Nusle district. The bridge is one of the longest in the country and carries two footpaths, a multi-lane road and part of the city's metro network. The bridge links the city center to its south-eastern districts such as Pankrác, and joins the D1 motorway leading to Brno. Radetzky March
The "Radetzky March", Op. 228, (; ) is a march composed by Johann Strauss (Senior) which was first performed on 31 August 1848 in Vienna to celebrate the victory of the Austrian Empire under Field Marshal Joseph Radetzky von Radetz (the piece's namesake) over the Italian forces at the Battle of Custoza, during the First Italian War of Independence. It has been noted that its tone is more celebratory than martial, but it nevertheless became popular among marching regimental soldiers. Origin Strauss had already used the theme in his ''Jubel-Quadrille'', Op. 130; the upbeat bears a considerable resemblance to the second theme from the Allegro in Joseph Haydn's Symphony No. 100 composed in 1794. For the trio, Strauss used an older folk melody called ''Alter Tanz aus Wien'' or ''Tinerl-Lied'' which was originally in 3/4 time. Božena Němcová () (4 February 1820 in Vienna – 21 January 1862 in Prague) was a Czech writer of the final phase of the ''Czech National Revival'' movement. Her image is featured on the 500 CZK denomination of the Česká koruna. Biography According to the dating up to now accepted by the majority of Czech authors, Božena Němcová was born in 1820 as ''Barbara Pankl'' (or ''Barbora Panklová'' according to the usual Czech name-giving for women) in Vienna as a daughter of Johann Pankl from Lower Austria and Teresie Novotná, a maid of Bohemian origin. In her childhood she lived near the small town of Ratibořice, where her grandmother Magdalena Novotná played an important part in her life. Václav Špála
Václav Špála (24 August 1885 in Žlunice – 13 May 1946 in Prague) was a Czech painter, graphic designer and illustrator. He studied at Prague Academy. He was a member of the group Tvrdošíjní (The Obstinate) and exhibited with them. At the beginning of his career, his work was influenced by Fauvism, later by Cubism. From 1909 he was a member of the Manes Association. From 1911 he was also a member of the Group of Fine Artists in Prague, a group of young Czech modernists embracing cubism and including artists like Vincenc Benes, Josef Capek, Emil Filla or Otto Gutfreund.
