Pāvels Davidovs
Pāvels Davidovs (born 30 December 1980) is a Latvian former football goalkeeper. Club career Davidovs played for FK Avots until 2000, when he started his professional career with FK Ventspils in the Latvian Higher League. He made only one appearance through the season, being a total backup keeper. In 2002, he left FK Ventspils, going to a one level lower league and joining FK Auda in Riga. He played 10 matches there and in 2003 had a spell in Lithuania with FK Ekranas. In 2004, he came back to Latvia, signing a contract with Latvian Higher League club Dinaburg FC in Daugavpils. Also this time he could not capitalize in the league and played only one match. In 2005, he returned to FK Ventspils and stayed there for 2 seasons, mostly being the second-choice goalkeeper, and making 17 appearances. In 2008, he joined Daugava Daugavpils. Vitālijs Meļņičenko (born 11 November 1987 in Riga) is a Latvian footballer who plays for Lysekloster IL. Club career As a youth player Meļņičenko played for Rīgas Futbola skola, making his first professional appearance in 2005 for Olimps/RFS. In 2006, he joined FK Eirobaltija, but in 2007 he returned to the higher-level football, joining FK Rīga. Unable to prove himself there he was signed by Skonto Riga in 2008. He made 2 appearances for the club, being loaned to Olimps/RFS in 2008 and SK Blāzma in 2009. While playing for Olimps/RFS, Meļņičenko managed to score a goal against FK Vindava and all in all played 7 league games. During the loan spell at SK Blāzma he played 10 league matches. The A Lyga is the top division of professional football in Lithuania. It is organized by Lithuanian Football Federation (LFF) (). History The first football league was established in Lithuania in 1924, and in various forms existed until 1939. Due to the Polish–Lithuanian War, clubs from Vilnius did not take part in early period of the Lithuanian football competitions. FC Daugava was a Latvian football club, based at the Daugava Stadium, in the city of Daugavpils. It was founded as FC Ditton in 2001. They lastly played in the Latvian Second League in 2015.
