Pérola Byington
Pérola Ellis Byington (3 December 1879 – 6 November 1963) was a Brazilian philanthropist and social activist. She was an advocate for mother and children's health assistance in Brazil during the first half of 20th century. Early life On 3 December 1879, Byington was born as Pearl Ellis McIntyre in Santa Bárbara d'Oeste, São Paulo, Brazil. Byington's parents were Mary Elisabeth Ellis and Robert Dickson McIntyre, American Confederado immigrants who settled in Santa Bárbara d'Oeste. She adopted the Portuguese form of her name (Pérola) and in 1894 when Pérola was fourteen years old, she completed the preparation for the Normal School, but was not admitted because the minimum age requirement was sixteen years old. Gregorio Byington Duvivier (born 11 April 1986) is a Brazilian actor, comedian and poet. He is known by his works in film and theater, being one of the members of the comedy troupe Porta dos Fundos. Biography Duvivier was born in Rio de Janeiro, the son of musician and visual artist Edgar Duvivier and singer Olivia Byington, and his siblings are John, Theodora and Barbara Duvivier. He is also the nephew of actress Bianca Byington. On his paternal side, he descends from the commander Theodore Duvivier, one of the promoters of the urbanization of the neighborhoods of Copacabana and Leme (Rio de Janeiro), in the late nineteenth century. Olivia Maria Lustosa Byington (born December 24, 1958) is a Brazilian singer. She has released several albums, and had a number one hit with the Jagger/Richards song "Lady Jane". Career Byington played the guitar from the age of eight. She started her career as a vocalist at the end of the 1970s with the rock band Antena Coletiva, and with Jaques Morelenbaum. She was described by the critic Sérgio Cabral as the "best singer of her generation". Her first record, "Corra o Risco", was recorded in 1978 with "Barca do Sol."
