Pécs District
Pécs () is a district in central part of Baranya County, Hungary. ''Pécs'' is also the name of the town where the district seat is located. The district lies in the Southern Transdanubia Statistical Region. Geography Pécs District borders Komló District and Bonyhád District ''(Tolna County)'' to the north, Pécsvárad District and Bóly District to the east, Siklós District to the south, Sellye District, Szentlőrinc District and Hegyhát District to the west. The number of the inhabited places in Pécs District is 40. Municipalities The district has 1 urban county, 1 town and 38 villages. Districts Of Hungary
Districts of Hungary are the second-level divisions of Hungary after counties. They replaced the 175 subregions of Hungary in 2013. There are 174 districts in the 19 counties, and there are 23 districts in Budapest. Districts of the 19 counties are numbered by Arabic numerals and named after the district seat, while districts of Budapest are numbered by Roman numerals and named after the historical towns and neighbourhoods. In Hungarian, the districts of the capital and the rest of the country hold different titles. Abaliget
Abaliget (, ) is a village () in central Baranya County, Pécs District, in southern Hungary. Until the end of World War II, the inhabitants' majority was Danube Swabian, also called locally as ''Stifolder'', because their ancestors arrived in the 17th and 18th centuries from Fulda (district). Most of the former German settlers were expelled to Allied-occupied Germany and Allied-occupied Austria in 1945–1948, pursuant to the Potsdam Agreement. Only a few Germans of Hungary live there, the majority today are the descendants of Hungarians from the Czechoslovak–Hungarian population exchange. They got the houses of the former Danube Swabian inhabitants. It is located in the western Mecsek Mountains. The nearby Abaliget Cave and the area's lakes and hiking trails make it a popular tourist destination. Its population at the 2011 Census was 598. Hosszúhetény
Hosszúhetény (, ) is the most populous village in Baranya county, southwest Hungary, a significant centre of village tourism. It is located 18 kilometres northeast to Pécs, the county capital, in a valley between the feet of Zengő, the highest peak of the Mecsek mountains and the peak called :hu:Hármashegy, Hármashegy. It has a population of 3424 (as of 1 January 2010) and an area of . The valley has been inhabited since the Stone Age. Two other nearby villages belong to the administration of Hosszúhetény: :hu:Püspökszentlászló, Püspökszentlászló and Kisújbánya.
